Katie Price might be facing permanent damage to her breasts, including the possibility of permanently numb nipples, after revealing she’s had her 17th boob job. Mr Amer Hussein, a top Consultant Breast Oncoplastic and Aesthetic Surgeon, has sounded the alarm about the dangers of too many surgeries.
“Breast surgery may also lead to temporary changes in nipple sensation; some women may experience hypersensitivity, while others may find their nipples are less sensitive. After 17 boob jobs, Katie will be at risk of this area being completely numb,” he warned, highlighting the potential for chronic pain and increased discomfort with each additional surgery, reports Wales Online.
Mr Hussein, who works with Pall Mall Medical, didn’t mince his words about the risks of repeated procedures: “Repeated surgeries can also increase the risk of infections and can lead to excessive scar tissue and tissue damage which can be aesthetically unpleasing as well as increasing the risk of complications. With each surgery, there could also be implant-related issues such as implant rupture or leakage and implant malposition.”
He also pointed out the dangers of frequent general anaesthetics, saying: “Not only should we consider the risks associated with the surgery itself, but we also need to look at the risks of having multiple general anaesthetics.”
“Most side effects happen immediately after your operation and do not last long – these include: feeling sick or being sick this usually happens immediately, although some people may continue to feel sick for up to a day, shivering and feeling cold this may last a few minutes or hours, confusion and memory loss this is more common in older people or those with existing memory problems; it’s usually temporary, but occasionally can be longer lasting, bladder problems you may have difficulty passing urine, dizziness you will be given fluids to treat this, bruising and soreness this may develop in the area where you were injected or had a drip fitted; it usually heals without treatment.”
In addition to the medical risks, there’s also the emotional strain of undergoing multiple surgeries and the financial implications to consider.
Anyone considering having several procedures should opt for a reputable provider and experienced surgeon for their consultations and surgery, and ensure they carefully consider the risks and benefits as well as the long-term impact on their health and well-being.
