Sydney Sweeney fans are not happy with a recent video of the star.
The Euphoria actress recently starred in a campaign for skincare brand Laneige and in the advert, Sydney holds up a pot of product while saying the words: “Bouncy and firm? Really?” while subtitles run across her bust.
Laneige added a caption to their advert and wrote: “Can we talk about the word plump for a second? How good is that word? Sorry – got distracted. Buy our new Bouncy and Firm Sleeping Mask.” The image ended up on r/popculturechat and the original poster said that they found the advert “uncomfortably centred on the male gaze” for a skincare line that is “targeted towards women”.

They continued on to say: “[…] I just loathe how it says “bouncy and firm” right across her breasts as some sort of cheeky joke. I hope Sydney herself signed off on the language and direction in this ad because if she didn’t, I roll my eyes completely.”
In the comments, one person noted that the “text placement doesn’t even look good there” while another said that the campaign was “so off brand and unexpected” as it “doesn’t align with their brand persona”. Another person slammed the brand and wrote: “Damn this is real? Which 14 year old boy was tasked with making this ad? [thinking emoji].”
Someone else simply asked “when can we move on from Sydney Sweeney’s breasts” as another critic said that people “really act like she’s the first actress to have boobs”. However, some people had a different view on Sweeney’s appearance in the advert.
One Reddit user added: “She’s an adult, she isn’t stupid and knows exactly why the money is rolling in. Let’s not be naive and think she’s being duped into this.” In the advert, Sweeney wears a white vest with her iconic blonde locks pulled back into a sleek ponytail.
She is seen applying the cream to her face, smiling and laughing as she urges fans to “stay plump, bouncy and firm” by using the skincare product on their faces.
