Taylor Swift once wished P Diddy was her prom date.
In a resurfaced clip from back in 2011, when the Love Story singer was just 21-years-old, Swift can be seen chatting to Rachael Ray about some fellow Hollywood A-listers. Pictures of celebrities, including P Diddy, Katy Perry and JLo were spread out in front of her.
Ray prompted Swift to answer: “Who would you have taken to the prom?” The singer responded that “it would be a really fun group” of people to go with,” but ultimately selected Diddy.

Rachael joked that Swift was “going on a freaky prom date” as Taylor explained why she picked the rapper: “Diddy has really always been very nice to me.” Ray then chimed in: “He’s a gentleman, isn’t he? He’s a lovely gentleman.”

Taylor gushed that Diddy, real name Sean Combs, “would be fun to be in the prom group” as she finished the challenge. This clip from Rachael’s show was recently posted to TikTok in light of P Diddy’s recent sex scandal.
The rapper was arrested on 16 September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, all of which he “categorically denies”. He is currently awaiting trial.

On social media, Taylor fans couldn’t believe what they heard in the talk show clip and flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts. Some people said that Swift’s comments “aged like milk” while another person simply typed: “Oopsie.”
Someone else defended Taylor and wrote: “As a millennial, we looked up to these people. We didn’t know what was really going on. This is like Fearless/Speak Now [Taylor’s albums] Taylor. She [is] like 19-21 here.”
One person quipped that Taylor “was so young then,” another added that her comments “didn’t age well” while one person added: “‘Diddy’s always be really nice to me,’ she was trying to save herself.”
“Back when we were all so naive,” wrote another person before signing off with a crying emoji. Someone else even claimed that they think he mother “would have never let Taylor hang out at Diddy’s” and said they “couldn’t imagine” the situation.
