Fans of The Chase lost their temper when a player delivered what they thought was the “worst ever performance” in the final.
The hit quizzing programme was back with another episode on Friday (May 24) with host Bradley Welsh at the helm. With contestants Erica, Stuart, Harry and Sarah hoping to win big, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty was ready to stop them in their tracks.
During the show, all four players put on a stellar performance in their cash builder rounds, with player number two Stuart standing out from the crowd- achieving an impressive £9,000 in round one. With all of the players sailing through to the final and a tasty £25,000 in the kitty, things looked promising.

However, the game took a terrible turn in the final chase which left fans with a bad taste in their mouths. Viewers noticed that Stuart often buzzed in quickly when he didn’t know the answers.
He also accidentally called out answers when he wasn’t supposed to. The team managed to answer 14 questions between them, with Bradley telling the team that it had been a winning score in the past.
But fans were disappointed with the final four and headed over to X to share their annoyance. One viewer said: “Stuart has just pulled off the worst performance in the final chase ever.”
Another fumed: “Why press the button after 2 seconds in, then laugh for 5 seconds and then pass??” A third added: “Wanted to smash the TV up on behalf of Stuart and Sarah there. Utter shambles from those two.”
A fourth viewer said: “Stuart best have his running shoes on. Think there might be an actual chase after this.”
While another added: “Stuart needs to stop pressing that button. Bit of a shambles.”
Seeing that things didn’t exactly go as smoothly as initially deemed. Chaser Anne also commented on this too and said: “An awful lot of grabbing at answers and grabbing the wrong ones.”
During the final chase, Anne managed to get a couple of questions wrong, giving the team room to push her back. However it wasn’t to be as Anne still managed to beat them with seconds to spare.
Commenting on the outcome, one fan wrote: “25k down the drain. I blame it on Stuart. He was the weakest link of the chain. Nice show today.”
