The Osbournes ‘curse’ exposed – haunted doll, domestic abuse and bitter family feud

She’s branded James Corden a name dropper and called Vogue magazine’s Anna Wintour the c-word during her stay in the CBB house.

It’s safe to say Sharon Osbourne is not one to shy away from giving her opinion. The former X Factor judge agreed to being a guest housemate for a rumoured half a million quiz paycheck last week.

She feared being away from home for too long amid hubby Ozzy’s spiralling health.

His band’s biggest-selling single is Paranoid and the Brummie-born star has every reason to be. Nicknamed the Prince of Darkness, growing up Ozzy suffered sexual abuse from bullies and struggled with dyslexia leading to suicide attempts and a conviction for theft.

After biting off the head of a bat during a gig he cemented his position as a music hellraiser, fell into alcohol and substance abuse and developed a sex addiction leading him to cheat on beloved wife Sharon. He suffered burns after a house fire in 2013 but it was a quad bike accident in 2019 where he suffered a broken neck vertebra, leading him to quit touring. Ozzy revealed in 2020 he has been diagnosed with neurodegenerative disorder, Parkinson’s, seven years earlier.

He blames a haunted doll called Robert – which inspired the movie toy Chuckie. He and son Jack bought a replica from a Florida museum despite being warned people sent them back after it was said to be cursed if you took its photo without permission, disrespected it or teased it. Ozzy blew up the doll with a water cannon telling Jack: “You shouldn’t have f***ed around with him. It’s bad luck. Look at what’s gone on with me!”. Last November, the star told Rolling Stone UK he had 10 years left to live “at best” after a vertebral tumour was found during his fourth spinal operation that year.

Jack

Telly paranormal investigator Jack got divorced from actress Lisa Stelly, mother of his first three children, a year after Ozzy threw Robert the doll to the ground and his own health has been on the slide since childhood. Diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia in primary school, he spent time in a child psychiatric ward for an Oxycontin addiction and attempted suicide.

After a girlfriend’s ex answered the phone when he called her, Jack cut his hands with shards of glass and swallowed a cocktail of pills. He was diagnosed with remitting-relapsing multiple sclerosis at 26, three weeks after the birth of his oldest daughter. At the height of the pandemic he lost friends from his sober journey who took their own life.

Her passionate romance with Ozzy saw the pair embroiled in domestic abuse with Sharon admitting they used to “beat the s***” out of each other and Ozzy trying to strangle Sharon in 1989. After beating colon cancer in 2002, in 2012 – the same year Jack received his MS diagnosis – Sharon learned she was carrying a genetic mutation which could lead to developing breast cancer so underwear a preventative double mastectomy.

She was fired from US chat show The Talk in 2021 for comments supporting Piers Morgan in his row against a publicity shy woman. In December 2022 she fell ill filming Ghost Adventures alongside Jack and daughter Kelly but tests were unable to detect the cause. Now showing off her tiny frame after starting to take Ozempic, a medicine designed to help those with type 2 diabetes lose weight, Sharon has admitted she can no longer pack on the pounds and feels too thin.

Shooting to fame as a child, Kelly struggled being in the spotlight and battled alcoholism, necking three bottles of champagne a day during one relapse, struggled to get her music career to come anywhere close to her dad’s success and has had a strike of broken relationships. She turned to gastric sleeve surgery in 2020 after struggling with a food addiction.

While she stays out of the spotlight Sharon and Ozzy’s eldest child isn’t without her own woes. Estranged from her siblings in 2021, Kelly admitted: “We don’t talk. She doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand her.” Sharon said it broke her heart when Aimee moved out of home at 16 when the MTV cameras moved in.
