This Morning chaos as Martin Lewis walks off set and abandons Josie Gibson

This Morning was left in chaos this week as presenter Martin Lewis walked off set after admitting: “I don’t want the job.”

The Money Saving Expert founder, 51, was presenting the show for the first time ever alongside Josie Gibson, despite appearing as a guest star for an incredible 21 years. But things seemed to get a bit too much for him before the 11am ad break, as Martin scraped his chair back and walked past the cameras and off set.

The incident began after Dr Sara Kayat showed off the “life-saving benefits” of walking, and adopted a catwalk-style strut on the show, but soon disappeared from view. Martin commented: “There she goes now, goes by in a flash!”

He called after her: “Can you come back? Oh, she’s done a turn and everything! She did that so well.”

Martin then admitted: “I’ve got to get my steps in so we’ll be chatting on the move. You can carry on with the rest Josie. 2,700 today, it’s awful!” He began to follow Dr Sara – leaving Josie stranded all alone at a table.

Martin admits he gets a massive amount of steps in per day to keep himself looking younger, starting with 8,000 on his elliptical machine every morning and then taking meetings on the phone so he can walk while chatting in the afternoon.

Soon Martin had disappeared from view entirely

And though he was grinning as he left Josie behind, fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing and turned to social media to react. One X user penned: “Martin makes it all about him.” Someone else added: “What a delight is having Martin Lewis presenting #ThisMorning today. He should do it at least once a week, he is great and pretty funny!”

Martin admitted during the fitness segment: “You don’t need to do 25,000 steps a day like me – that’s a half-marathon. But I do think a little bit of obsession can be a positive thing.” Dr Sara confessed that just getting up every hour for a walk can be a healthy habit to get into.

It comes after Martin confessed he “doesn’t want the job” permanently, telling bosses: “Thank you very much for having me on the show today. This isn’t an audition, I don’t want the job, I’ve got a day job. I’ve just always wanted to do this. So to the producers, thanks for having me!”

He added: “To everybody watching, I hope you enjoy today. And if you don’t, don’t worry, because it’s only a one off! So you don’t need to tell me on social media if you didn’t enjoy it – I don’t need to know.”
