Usher says ‘I’ll see you soon’ as he cancels gigs over safety concerns

Usher’s taken the decision to pull the plug on his Miami gigs at Kaseya Center as Hurricane Milton turns into a beastly category five storm, prompting Florida to declare a red alert.

The Burn hitmaker took to Instagram to break the news: “My upcoming shows in Miami at Kaseya Center have been rescheduled for December due to the state of emergency in Florida.”

The star’s keen to keep fans safe and sound, saying: “Everyone’s safety and well-being remain my top priority and I’d rather celebrate with you all at a time when you can get to and from the show safely.”

Adding a word for those facing the fury, he posted: “Praying for everyone affected by this natural disaster.” Usher signed off with a thoughtful message: “Florida, stay safe. I will see you soon.”

Those with tickets needn’t fret the shows are rerouted to December 16, 18, and 19 at the same venue.

This intense hurricane follows closely on the heels of Hurricane Helene’s chaos stint in Florida. President Joe Biden is hunkering down stateside to steer the country through the turmoil after ditching his jaunts to Germany and Angola.

Biden’s not mincing words either, telling Floridians to evacuate as “it’s a matter of life and death, and that’s not hyperbole. It’s a matter of life and death.”

Describing the severe threat, one official voiced fears, saying: “This could be the worst storm to hit Florida in over a century, and God-willing it won’t be, but it’s looking like that right now.”
