What Meghan Markle’s co-stars said about her – ‘zero communication’ to ‘intimidated’

Meghan Markle’s Suits co-stars have had plenty to say about the Duchess of Sussex since she left behind her role as Rachel Zane in 2018 to become a member of the royal family.

Meghan tied the knot with Prince Harry that year, with plenty of her co-stars invited to the extravagant wedding the pair held in London. Even George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey jetted across from the States to attend. But now plenty of Meghan’s former colleagues say they don’t speak to her anymore.

But plenty have been quick to defend Meghan against cruel trolls and criticism in the media, with Patrick J. Adams –– who played her on-screen boyfriend Mike Ross in Suits – branding her an “enthusiastic, kind, co-operative, giving, joyful and supportive” member of the cast.

He added: “She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.” The star admitted to ExtraTV that he would “kill” to work with Meghan once more, telling the outlet: “I think she’s y’know a huge talent and more than anything just the most motivated, driven human being I’ve ever met.”

He’s not the only one.

‘Very different places’

Meghan’s co-star Gina Torres, who played Jessica Pearson in Suits, confessed that she is no longer in touch with Meghan – because their lives took on “such different trajectories”. She told Glamour: “There are people you have immediate and incredible chemistry with that you align with throughout the years, that are sustainable relationships.”

But out of “hundreds of people” she’s met across her career, she can’t remain in contact with everyone, although she “enjoyed” working with Meghan and they had a “great time” together. But she admitted the pair were in “very different places” in their lives, and don’t communicate any longer.

‘Intimidated’

Patrick J. Adams was ‘too intimidated’ to phone his pal

Though Patrick has had some kind words to gush about Meghan, he confessed in 2020 that he’s “too intimidated” to phone her up. The pair swapped messages and gifts upon the births of their children, but little else.

He admitted: “I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her but I don’t know what I would say. I guess I’m scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist.” And asked if he had spoken to her in 2024, he revealed: “Zero. No communication.”

‘Like family’

Donna Paulsen star Sarah Rafferty said Meghan was like a sister to her

Suits star Sarah Rafferty became as close as sisters with Meghan while she was playing Donna Paulsen in the show, and attended her wedding alongside Louis Litt star Rick Hoffman. But despite becoming “family”, Sarah confessed the pair aren’t in touch any longer.

She told the Today show: “She is really busy. She’s super busy.” But she’s tweeted her support of Meghan, thanking her for “normalising having a respected woman in power”.

‘Foul smell’

Meghan’s Suits co-star Rick Hoffman went viral at her wedding to Prince Harry for his “resting b*tch face” – which he put down to a bad smell at the ceremony rather than the impending nuptials.

Rick admitted on the Chicks in the Office podcast: “[The wedding] was another experience I will take with me until my dying day as incredibly special. When you were on those grounds, you were like, ‘Wow’. All of a sudden you were just like, ‘Slow everything down, where am I right now?’ You did feel like you were in a different century.

“I come in and we’re all excited to be there. I like to mess around with [Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty] constantly, so I was doing something ridiculous like, ‘Isn’t this exciting, this is so great, oh my God we’re at the Royal Wedding!’

“As time goes on, I’m starting to smell something really terrible and foul. Is this such an offence, that somebody has terrible breath? But it was more than one person and it was getting over here. It felt like [a group] because nobody’s moving. I’m starting to get a little jittery because it’s bothering me, I’m very sensitive when it comes to that.”

With rumours of a Suits reunion circulating, talk at the Golden Globes turned to the cast’s WhatsApp group, with Gina Torres confirming the chat was going crazy with messages about a potential revival.

But asked if Meghan is a part of the group, Gina confessed she “doesn’t have her number” – and that Meghan has been snubbed from the group. Gina said the rest of the gang had been “texting each other”, revealing: “Our text thread is insane right now.”

Gina did say Meghan would happily watch the reunion if it even happened, revealing: “She’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.”
