I’ll admit it, I’d never heard of Zeze Millz when she got announced for Celebrity Big Brother.
As a showbiz editor, I like to think I would know everyone who goes on shows like this, but every year when things like the I’m A Celeb cast gets confirmed, there’s someone I’m left scratching my head over. Sometimes it doesn’t matter, and sometimes they’re completely forgettable.
In the case of Zeze, I think it’s worked out well. And she’s become one of my favourite housemates. Week one we saw her clashing with Lauren Simon. As a reality television junkie, I was already a fan of Lozza’s.

Despite not knowing any of these people personally, I get weirdly loyal. Anyone who goes against our Lauren must be a bad egg, right?
Looking back, it was clearly just a case of two personalities clashing. And Lauren wouldn’t have been nominated for eviction twice in a row if she was easy to live with.
The turning point for me, with Zeze, came when Sharon Osbourne decided to save her from eviction and give her immunity. At that moment, we saw a different side to Zeze.
She wasn’t having to be defensive or take anyone on. It was just a nice, positive moment.
Whether or not I think Sharon’s decision was genuine or a subconscious personal PR move is another story. Sharon has been accused of racism and left US chat show The Talk over it back in 2021, after all.
Regardless, I think it allowed Zeze to relax into it and come out of her shell. David Potts teaming up with her to sabotage the police task helped too.
We saw a really fun side to Zeze then, and that’s when I really started taking notice of her. Everything she’s done after that has been brilliant.
And she showed she’s perfect for a panel show with the podcast task. I’m not sure she’d go for it, but she’d bring a much-needed fresh voice to Loose Women if they came calling.
She’s been the only person to really speak up to Louis Walsh. For example, she wasn’t taking his questionable reasons for his choices in the fairytale task.
She rightly defended David when Louis just wanted to hammer him with the tasks. And I don’t blame her for not hiding her very clear annoyance towards him.
In a series when we had the manicured and thought out monologues from Ekin-Su “Don’t Talk To Me About Love Island ” Culculoglu, or the constant name dropping from Louis and Mrs O (which I loved, don’t get me wrong), Zeze’s no bulls*** straight forwardness has been exactly what I needed. She’s just being real.
Admittedly, I haven’t seen other shows she’s done, but she feels completely authentic. That’s the point of reality television, isn’t it?
Sadly, she’s been nominated a few times now. Not being an integral part of the main clique – Nikita Kuzmin, Colson Smith and Bradley Riches – has left her vulnerable.
And I think she’s at risk of going on Tuesday night, which is a shame. I can’t see Nikita going anywhere, and I sense people are enjoying Fern Britton.
If that’s the case, Zeze and Marisha Wallace will be missing out on their deserved spots in the final. It’s a tragedy that Louis has got a fast-track there as he hasn’t gone down as well with viewers as I think ITV thought he would.
But the big bosses did great signing Zeze up for the show in the first place. And it could lead to big things for her.
Radio host Jordan North was relatively unknown when he did I’m A Celeb, and he’s just made the move from BBC to Capital’s Breakfast Show. Sam Thompson was only familiar to Made In Chelsea fans before he won the jungle last year, now he’s hosting every red carpet and landed a job on This Morning.
Whether or not she does go on to mainstream success (and I hope she does), she’s been a brilliant housemate. So, let’s all get over the collective “Who is she!?” whenever these line-ups come out, because chances are they might just be the real star of the show.
