An actress and her boyfriend begged a paparazzi not to release naked photos of them after they were caught skinny-dipping on Venice Beach in Los Angeles
A paparazzi snapper says he caught a top US actress skinny dipping with her boyfriend in public. Veteran photographer Mark Karloff said the actress “stripped off all her clothes” on Venice Beach in Los Angeles around a decade ago.
Karloff, host of the Paparazzi Podcast, caught the daring duo completely nude as they stepped out of the ocean. The actress, who he can’t name but says was in the later version of 90210, begged him not to release the snaps.
And Karloff decided not to publish them, a decision he stands by to this day.
He said: “She stripped off all of her clothes and went swimming in the ocean, then came out. I got shots of all that. The boyfriend was kind of freaking out, like, ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’
“She came up to me and asked, ‘Did you get any of that?’ And I said yeah. She said, ‘Would you mind not putting that out?’ And I never did.
“She was pretty big at the time. That would’ve been a big deal. But nudity doesn’t really get published that much. You’d think, wow, that’s rare, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it goes for big money.
“It definitely helped with trust. After that, whenever she saw me, she knew I was a decent photographer, not just in it for the money.”
Karloff moved into paparazzi work three decades ago after becoming a go-to tour guide for pals desperate to spot a celeb. He has been snapping A-listers ever since.
Karloff added: “I grew up in an area where a lot of friends that I graduated from high school went into Hollywood, so I knew the Hollywood club scene well.
“So I started hanging out in this kind of world. People would come to visit me from out of town and stuff like that, I would kind of take them around and show them the sites. And I was kind of good at it.
“Then one of the people that actually came to visit me was a photo editor for an agency and she basically threw my name in there asking if I wanted to pursue this.
“Then I went out and I did it, I just got hooked on the adrenaline and the fun of seeing celebrities out and about.”
