Amanda Owen has left her fans worried about her wellbeing and hard at work on her Yorkshire farm with her ex Clive also opening up on the “tough” life on the farm
Amanda Owen has sparked serious worry amongst her devoted followers after posting a video from her Yorkshire Farm workplace.
The Shepherdess was hard at work on Bank Holiday Monday, filming herself in a barn surrounded by a flock of sheep.
In the footage, Amanda could be seen making light of “losing friends” with the animals whilst organising and arranging them for the day’s tasks. She subsequently turned the camera around to show some of her children had arrived to assist during the extended weekend.
“Here was me thinking that I’d not have any helpers on a bank holiday weekend,” she wrote optimistically.
The glimpse into Amanda’s notoriously chaotic farm routine emerges as Clive discussed how “tough” conditions can be at Ravenseat during a recent instalment of their programme Our Farm Next Door, as he pondered “many more lambing seasons” he has remaining.
He continued, “It’s funny how time passes and you look back at things.”, reports the Express.
Clive enlisted his sons, Miles and Sid, to assist him with installing a gate for lambing season because, over the past three years, it had become “hard for Clive to get through”.
“They could probably hang this gate without me,” Clive remarked, speaking about Miles and Sid. “As they get bigger, they take on more responsibility.”
Amanda, who has nine children with her estranged husband Clive, has frequently discussed the challenges of balancing family commitments with farming responsibilities in the isolated Yorkshire Dales. Clive has admitted that their shared television fame had strained their relationship, leading to resentment.
In a candid chat with The Sun, he confessed to feeling envious as Amanda’s star continued to rise.
He disclosed: “I’d like people to know that what caused the split between us wasn’t anyone else – it was the constant fighting. My anger drove Amanda away.”
Reflecting on their past, Clive said: “Looking back on it, I can see now that Amanda needed someone to talk to, someone she could trust, and at that stage, I wasn’t that person.”
Clive also confessed to drinking a “lot of whisky” and acknowledged that Amanda “dreaded coming home”, fearing his confrontational behaviour.
He added: “I can see now that I was being hypocritical by thinking Amanda had left me behind with the success she had outside of the farm, because in some respects, I had always put the farm before her, so she was coming second to that.”
