BBC Bargain Hunt star arrives at court after being charged with terror offences

Bargain Hunt’s Ochuko Ojiri has arrived at court after being charged with terror offences.

The 53-year-old antiques expert was held in relation to an investigation into financial dealings with terrorists and is the first to face the specific charges under section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Ochuko was due to appear Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (May 9), where he has been charged with eight counts of failing to make a disclosure during business in the regulated sector.

The alleged offences took place between October 2020 and December 2021, after being discovered during an investigation into terrorist finances by officers from the National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit.

The unit is part of the Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Aside from his stint as a familiar face on the telly, helping bargain hunters, Ochuko also played the role of art gallery owner before he switched lanes to the small screen.

Regulars of Bargain Hunt will know Ochuko well, as he’s popped up on the programme multiple times dishing out expert advice.
