Disney+ is offering fans the chance to see a different side of Thor star Chris Hemsworth in the second season of Limitless.
Chris Hemsworth stands as one of Hollywood’s most prominent figures, so it’s perfectly natural that admirers are keen to discover everything about the Marvel legend.
Disney+ and National Geographic have joined forces once more for the second instalment of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth tackling fresh spine-chilling challenges.
The debut season centred on methods to extend life whilst this latest series concentrates on enhancing quality of life, from mastering new abilities to confronting your greatest anxieties.
With Hemsworth making his return to television, let’s delve deeper into the star’s existence away from the spotlight.
Sanitising breast pumps
Australian performer Chris Hemsworth might currently be celebrated for appearing in major box office hits such as the Thor series and Extraction, but he hasn’t always enjoyed the most prestigious employment.
When questioned about his most dreadful positions, he openly revealed to Collider: “Cleaning breast pumps.
“I worked for like a pharmacy that would rent out milk extractors, breast pumps, for pregnant women.
“I swear to God I had a toothbrush and a spray, and I would scrub off dried milk off the machines.”

Thor
Undoubtedly, the 42-year-old is most widely recognised for embodying Thor, God of Thunder, in the Avengers series, with the inaugural film released in 2011.
Whilst he might appear the natural selection, Hemsworth wasn’t always assured the role and nearly lost it to his sibling Liam Hemsworth from The Hunger Games.
In a conversation with Wired, Chris revealed: “I auditioned for Thor many years ago, probably 11 or 12 years ago, and I didn’t get a callback. I think my audition sucked.
“And then my younger brother auditioned, and he got very close – he got down to the last five people. And didn’t get it.
“They were like, ‘Look, he’s great, but he’s a bit young.'”
After this setback, Chris’ manager encouraged him to try again for the role, leading to a second chance.
“I came back in, re-auditioned a few times, and just had a different attitude.
“Maybe I had a little more sort of motivation that my little brother got a look in and I hadn’t.
“I also had done a couple of films in between those two auditions, so I had a bit more experience and confidence in what I was going to do.”
Love life
Hemsworth first crossed paths with his now-wife, Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky, in early 2010 through their mutual dialect coach.
Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, Hemsworth shared that their first date “set the stage for most of our relationship”, as he recalled: “She turned up on a motorcycle…and I thought, ‘Oh cool, she’s adventurous.'”.
He added: “You want to have similar interests.
“It’s interesting and fun to be from completely different walks of life and then there’s different things to talk about and different dynamics.
“But having the same interests and the same enthusiasm for the outdoors and sports and so on just keeps it interesting.”
Hemsworth and Pataky tied the knot in December 2010 and welcomed their daughter in May 2012, followed by their twin sons in March 2014.
Alzheimer’s risk
During the filming of Limitless series one, the star underwent a test revealing he was biologically eight to 10 times more susceptible to developing Alzheimer’s, as he possesses two copies of the APOE4 gene.
One in every 50 people inherits two copies of this gene, and studies have discovered that nearly all double carriers exhibited early symptoms of the dementia-causing condition by age 55.
Speaking to Sky News, Hemsworth revealed: “It was just kind of this point in my life where up until your 40s, you’re kind of gathering data and information and it’s all reactionary and then you get to a point where you think, oh some of this sort of identity that I’ve sort of built doesn’t hold true anymore.
“There’s some inner sort of protest or inner voice that has a deeper need to understand and there’s deeper questions and what is the purpose and the why behind what I’m doing … and what am I seeking, what am I contributing, as opposed to just what I am collecting.”
What’s next
Beyond Limitless series two, the star has a wealth of upcoming projects on his slate.
These encompass an action thriller titled Subversion alongside Cinderella star Lily James, Avengers: Doomsday currently in production, and thriller Crime 101 featuring Mark Ruffalo and Barry Keoghan.
There are also whispers of him featuring in a Transformers and GI Joe crossover, as well as taking on the role of the fairytale hero in a film titled Prince Charming.
Limitless season two premieres on Friday, August 15, on Disney+.
