Real Housewives of Cheshire star Christine McGuinness is said to have had a “fun fling” with a soap star after the pair met at an awards ceremony and hit it off
Christine McGuinness reportedly enjoyed a “fun fling” with a soap star after they connected at an awards ceremony.
The reality TV personality and the unidentified soap actor are said to have partied together, sparking immediate chemistry.
The 37-year-old Blackpool native has been candid about her dating experiences following her separation from husband Paddy McGuinness in 2023. Although the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star was slated to appear on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, she later withdrew from the show, stating she wasn’t prepared to date in the public eye.
Recently, Christine expressed apprehension about joining dating apps due to uncertainty over who might show up for a meeting arranged through such a platform. However, it seems she is comfortable meeting people organically, including the mystery soap actor.
Insiders allege that Christine and the TV actor “had a fling” and enjoyed their time together after their initial meeting. The duo reportedly partied together before things eventually cooled off between them.
“Christine was single at the time and they really enjoyed the evening of the awards bash,” a source revealed. They further told The Sun: “There was a strong chemistry between them and they shared some messages, but it never went any further after that,” reports the Mirror.
Christine parted ways with former Top Gear presenter Paddy in 2023, after 11 years of marriage.
Despite their split, the couple continue to share their Cheshire home for the sake of their children, albeit living at opposite ends of the house. Discussing dating on the BBC Situationships with Sophie and Christine podcast, she expressed her dread at the thought of joining dating apps like Tinder or Hinge.
The conversation turned to “catfishing” after Sophie recounted a date with someone who looked “not at all” like his profile pictures. Christine queried: “Do you not think to like FaceTime or check that the person is who they say they are?” Sophie, now in a relationship, responded that she would “never do it” and hasn’t used dating apps for years.
Her co-host Christine then admitted: “I would be petrified of who could turn up and who am I talking to and yeah … no, it scares me.”
Sophie suggested to her: “I think they are gonna go out of fashion. I think everyone’s getting fed up.”
Offering her opinion, Christine proposed: “I think it should come with like … almost like a TripAdvisor … like a review thing. Maybe like reviews from people’s exes or something.”
She later quipped that any reviews about her would be five stars.
However, Christine later admitted she has found the idea of dating again challenging, stating: “It’s part of the problem. I mean, for me, it’s something I’ve really struggled with is … the idea of dating and not going well, then how do you get out of it? Cause I wouldn’t want to upset somebody.”
After her split from Paddy, the television personality has found herself in “situationships”, where the boundaries between friendship and romance become blurred. Despite this, she did go on one date, which she claims was her first ever, but it required months of communication with the individual before she felt at ease meeting them.
