Coronation Street have had a behind-the-scenes reshuffle and ITV bosses have been forced to replace a fan favourite actor after completing just one year on the series
Coronation Street has reshuffled its cast and a fan favourite actor is being replaced after one year on the show.
The fourth Harry Platt actor to take on the role will soon be making their debut on the Cobbles. Harry, son of Sarah Barlow, was previously played by Carter J Murphy.
Carter took over from twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes – however, Carter’s exit from the soap is for a good cause. He’s bagged a major role in Matilda the Musical, which means he can’t continue his Corrie commitments.
According to the Sun his replacement will make his first appearance on the Cobbles in the upcoming weeks, reports the Mirror. Harry was born in 2016 following Sarah’s affair with villain Callum Logan, portrayed by Sean Ward.

Twins Freddie and Isaac took on the role from 2017 until last year. The role of Harry isn’t Carter’s first brush with fame, having landed the part of a young Robbie Williams in the biopic film Better Man.
Speaking about Carter’s addition to the soap, Jack P Shepherd commented: “They’ve just recast the lad who plays Harry. Carter is very, very confident.”
He made his Corrie debut in December last year and just last month Corrie saw a new actress step into a role following another recasting of a character.
Grace Ashcroft-Gardiner took over the role of Lily Platt on the ITV soap. The young performer was bursting with excitement as she revealed her new position to her followers, replacing Brooke Malonie who had played Lily since 2016.
Grace told fans: “I am so excited to share my news that I have joined the cast of Coronation Street playing the role of Lily Platt. It’s been a brilliant few months since my first audition, which wouldn’t have happened without the fantastic Stagebox team (who I can’t thank enough!)”
