Soap actor Jack P Shepherd and his partner Hanni Treweek are officially hitched. The first snaps from their big day have emerged, showing the couple tying the knot at Manchester Cathedral.
The Coronation Street star, who plays David Platt, was seen looking sharp in a suit next to his new wife Hanni, moments after they exchanged vows and said ‘I do’ in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
Pictures reveal the newlyweds both donned white for the occasion. Jack wore a stylish off-white suit jacket over a black waistcoat and white shirt, completed with black trousers and a black bow tie.
Hanni looked radiant in a stunning white gown with a full skirt and an impressively long train. Her dress featured a lace, off-the-shoulder top with long sleeves, adding to her elegant bridal look, reports the Mirror.
She finished off her ensemble with a lengthy veil, held in place by a tiara.
The happy couple shared a romantic kiss on the steps of Manchester Cathedral, as thrilled guests showered them with confetti.
Jack proposed to Hanni last year during a romantic safari trip in Tanzania, after working together on the soap.
The soap star had earlier disclosed that his stint on Celebrity Big Brother this year was to fund their extravagant wedding, although he hadn’t anticipated winning the ITV reality show.
In the run-up to their nuptials, the couple has been sharing sneak peeks of their preparations, enlisting the expertise of the events company Taylor Lynn Corporation.
Hanni took to Instagram to post highlights from their wedding planning journey, including the moment she picked her dress and their choice of wine for the celebration. She shared a charming detail about how they “built our guest list in this cosy little cabin”.
With the wedding just four weeks away, Hanni expressed her excitement in the post: “Here’s to four weeks of making special memories, feeling excited, nervous, overwhelmed, emotional, in love and everything else that comes with being a bride”. Jack, the soon-to-be groom, chimed in with a comment: “It’s gonna be EPIC!”.
Jack also shed some light on their upcoming wedding during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, where he was asked if he would invite his Celebrity Big Brother housemates. He admitted: “I don’t think so. I’ve only known them three weeks and have a guest list a mile long.”
Jack and Hanni’s romance blossomed after initially meeting on the set of Coronation Street, where she later became a storyline writer. It wasn’t until they reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding that the sparks really began to fly.
As reported by the Daily Star, Jack reminisced: “We got chatting, I made Hanni laugh, we had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.”
The duo started their romantic journey later that year after a chance encounter at a supermarket. Jack humorously commented on the awkwardness of their meeting while Hanni was worried about her looks.
But for Jack, it was love at first sight as he confessed: “I actually thought she looked fit I just saw the girl I fancy wearing Lycra! We quickly went on our first date and we just clicked.”
