Corrie star Kym Marsh is single yet again after she has split up with her toy-boy lover after six months together, after she called him her ‘soulmate’ on social media
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has suffered heartbreak once more, after her relationship with her “soulmate” who was 19 years younger than her ended after six months.
The 48-year-old star had gushed about her romance with 29-year-old Samuel Thomas online, calling her toyboy love her “soulmate”, after they met following the breakdown of her third marriage and her rocky love life. The former couple met while working together on 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.
They had both shared gushing posts praising one another on social media, with Sam, who is the same age as Kym’s son Daniel, writing: “I didn’t expect you, but here you are. I love you.” Kym replied: “Ditto. The best things happen unexpectedly. Love you too.”
Kym had gone public with their romance, writing: “Met the most amazing man ever! Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times. I love you #beautiful #soulmate #loveyou.”
A source close to the couple told The Sun: “Kym and Sam fell head over heels when they first met and couldn’t wait to tell the world. Once Kym’s role in 101 Dalmatians ended it became harder to spend time together and some of the magic they had at the beginning just disappeared.
“It’s such a shame, especially before Christmas but Kym surrounded herself with family.” The two had stopped posting about each other.
Their romance emerged after Kym split with her third husband, Army Major Scott Ratcliff, in May 2023. Scott was also younger than Kym, at 35 years old.
The marriage was said to come under strain following her success after appearing on Strictly. A source said: “They both really tried to make it work, but the cracks have been there for a while and they were only getting to see each other for one or two days a week at the very most.
“Kym’s been so busy, and last year Strictly meant even her weekends were stacked up along with weekdays rehearsing. More recently she’s been filming all over the place and rehearsing for a new theatre run,” they added.
“It’s very sad for all involved,” they finished. As well as son David, Kym is mum to 27-year-old Emilie and 13-year-old Polly, and had a son Archie in 2010 who sadly died moments after he was born.
She also became a grandmother for the first time in 2019, when Emilie welcomed a baby boy. Kym’s first marriage was to EastEnders star Jack Ryder, but they split after 7 years together.
In 2012 she went on to marry Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas but it only lasted two years.
