Brooklyn Beckham’s brother Cruz has broken his silence on the family feud and has issued a heartbreaking plea to his older sibling as he shared a throwback snap
Cruz Beckham has taken to Instagram with a touching throwback snap amid reports that older brother Brooklyn has severed contact with his star-studded family.
Heartache abounds as Brooklyn, embroiled in a reported feud over wife Nicola Peltz, has allegedly stopped replying to parents Victoria and David Beckham’s attempts to reach out.
Insiders close to the 26-year-old stated “he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect”. Following this emotional development, Cruz expressed his feelings by posting an endearing black and white photo on his Instagram Stories, depicting the Beckham siblings huddling around their mum, former Spice Girl Victoria.
Brooklyn could be seen resting his head on Victoria’s shoulder in the nostalgic image. Meanwhile, the Beckhams have received titillating news with rumours suggesting David, aged 50, is set to become Sir David as he’s tipped for a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours list, turning Victoria into Lady Beckham.
However, whispers abound that Brooklyn hasn’t extended warm wishes to his father about the honour, as it seems David withheld news of the knighthood from Brooklyn, leaving him to discover it through the press amidst their strained relations.
Sources close to the 26-year-old have told Page Six that he’s over the moon his dad is being honoured and knew it meant the world to him, reports the Mirror.
Yet, an insider allegedly close to the Beckhams spilled to the outlet: “Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect.”
Another source from Brooklyn’s camp has refuted this claim, stating: “This seems to be another deliberate attempt to misrepresent the truth, and it only serves to distract from this honour being bestowed on Brooklyn’s father.”
Amidst all this, Brooklyn released a rather telling message last month addressed to his well-known family, asserting he’ll “always choose” his wife Nicola Peltz amid buzz that she’s stirred up major family drama. Sharing a clip on social media where he’s revving up a motorbike alongside Nicola in Beverly Hills, Brooklyn captioned it: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”
The social media post seemed like a direct nod to the ongoing family strife—the first time either Brooklyn or Nicola have publicly commented on the stark rift in the Beckham clan.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Cruz has subtly hinted at his brother through a post. Last month, following Brooklyn’s declaration that he’d always ‘choose Nicola’, Cruz shared a message stating: “It takes 43 muscles in your face to frown, and 17 to smile. Be kind and tell the truth.”
In another post, the 20-year-old expressed: “I love my family, I love you guys more than anything, mum and dad you gave us life and cared for us no matter what, I cannot tell you how blessed we all are to have you in our lives x.”
Rumours of a family feud have been circulating for months after fans noticed both Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from Victoria’s birthday and David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Despite previously sharing affectionate posts with each other, the couple failed to publicly support the Beckham family. Instead, they were spotted celebrating Coachella, attending events and even celebrating Nicola’s brother Will’s birthday.
Sources close to Nicola have previously claimed that as “an outsider coming into the Beckham family, she has helped Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within”. These allegations, labelled as “patently untrue and ludicrous” by friends of David and Victoria, were reportedly the “nail in the coffin” for any future relationship, according to insiders.
New magazine has reported that Victoria is finding the situation difficult as Brooklyn will “always be her baby”. Another insider revealed: “He’s her first-born and they’ve always had a wonderful relationship, she feels like Nicola has taken over and it’s really tough to deal with as a mother.
“David is frustrated with Brooklyn’s behaviour and is telling Victoria it’s unacceptable, but she’s just upset to feel like she’s losing her first baby. She’s very family-oriented so it’s a worry that Brooklyn and Nicola will start their own family and Victoria won’t have contact with her first grandchild – it’s a devastating thought.”
