Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz are said to be ‘devastated’ that his parents David and Victoria have been ‘picking sides’ in the alleged family feud
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz are reportedly “devastated” over the alleged family feud involving his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham. The famous family has been embroiled in a public dispute, with rumours intensifying during David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
The couple surprised fans and the Beckham clan by seemingly ignoring all of David’s milestone events. Adding salt to the wound, Brooklyn and Nicola had flown into London from their Los Angeles residence specifically for the occasion.
Speculation quickly arose about the reason behind their apparent disagreement, with fingers being pointed at both Nicola and Romeo Beckham’s new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. Over the past week, Brooklyn and Nicola missed several parties, including a family gathering in the Cotswolds, a trip to France, and a celebration in London.
Kim, who began dating Brooklyn’s younger brother Romeo in November, attended all of David’s festivities. Cruz, the youngest son of David and Victoria, was also joined by his girlfriend Jackie Apostel at the events.
There have been suggestions that Brooklyn and Kim were once an item. Kim previously dated Rocco, the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, who was friends with Brooklyn at the time.
However, insiders insist there was never any romance between Kim and Brooklyn. Attention has since shifted to Brooklyn’s wife Nicola, who the Beckham family allegedly wants to distance themselves from.
Claims have surfaced that Nicola often starts arguments before family events, leading to her husband Brooklyn pulling out from attending. Romeo is reportedly upset as his girlfriend Kim is being blamed for the tension.
However, Nicola and Brooklyn are said to be hurt by the ongoing drama too. Brooklyn was reportedly planning to attend David’s birthday bash but then decided against it.
It’s been suggested that Brooklyn wanted to see his famous father “privately” to avoid Kim because the couple “have a problem with her”. They were supposedly advised to join the family event instead of having a one-on-one meeting with David.
A source told the Mirror: “Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family. They are both devastated. They cannot believe that Victoria and David refused to see them privately after they travelled all the way to London specifically to try to repair the relationship.”
The insider continued: “As parents, it’s shocking that Victoria and David are behaving this way… instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David (appear to) have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone.”
Romeo and Kim went public with their relationship in November. Brooklyn and Nicola had previously shown support for the ex-footballer on social media by liking his posts, but this ceased around the time he started dating Kim.
A family insider spilled the beans to the Mirror, claiming: “Brooklyn not turning up was a real blow to David. Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now.”
The source added that Brooklyn’s marriage has created a gap between him and his parents: “His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents. It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal.”
Meanwhile, whispers to The Sun suggest Brooklyn “flew to London with the sole intention of seeing his family and celebrating his dad’s birthday. He suggested going for breakfast or a coffee but was told the only chance to see the family would be at one of their lavish parties which Kim would likely be at, so he refused.”
Yet another source claimed that Kim, 24, skipped out on David’s swanky black-tie dinner due to work commitments. Another insider remarked: “This feels very performative. Brooklyn sent a text but it felt like boxticking, knowing they’d be asked about it.”
Earlier this week, David took to Instagram with a heartwarming shoutout to his eldest, Brooklyn. The footie legend uploaded snaps from a lads’ fishing and camping trip with his two younger sons, captioning the post: “Six months ago planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th. Was so much fun.”
He then added a touching note saying: “You were missed Brooklyn.”
