David Beckham is said to be “desperate” to speak to his son Brooklyn, who has been embroiled in a feud with the rest of his family after he and wife Nicola were a no-show at both parents’ birthdays
David and Victoria Beckham are becoming increasingly worried about their son Brooklyn, 26, who has allegedly stopped responding to their calls.
Previously, Brooklyn would regularly video call his parents daily via FaceTime, but since their ongoing feud, which began when Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz skipped both his parents’ birthday celebrations, communication has come to a standstill despite David and Victoria’s attempts to reach out.
David has reportedly tried to connect with Brooklyn through social media, but so far, has been unsuccessful.
The rift appears to have started following Romeo Beckham’s reported romance with Kim Turnball, a former flame of Brooklyn’s from a few years ago. Since then, Brooklyn has declined to mark his parents’ birthdays, with David turning 50 and Victoria turning 51.
An insider claimed: “There has been no call, no contact, nothing. As parents, David and Victoria are concerned for their son and they have tried to get in touch but he isn’t interested,” reports the Mirror.
“David even tried through social media last Monday because he fears that his son won’t know that he and Victoria love him so dearly otherwise,” they continued, speaking to the Daily Mail. David Beckham reportedly felt the absence of his son Brooklyn during a birthday fishing trip in Scotland, having reached out to him on social media.
However, sources claim Brooklyn “isn’t interested at all” in reconnecting, despite his parents’ efforts to show their support whenever he’s ready to talk.
Amidst this family tension, there are whispers suggesting that Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz, who tied the knot with him in April 2022, “must be behind” the family rift.
As Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding neared, rumours of a spat between Nicola and Victoria Beckham began circulating. Recently, Nicola’s pals have alleged “emotional abuse and toxic behaviour” as the root of the discord.
David and Victoria vehemently deny these accusations and are said to be incensed by such claims.
A source close to the Beckhams confided to the Mirror: “I don’t think anyone who has ever seen David and Victoria with their children would recognise this deeply unpleasant attack. It doesn’t even warrant a response it’s so ludicrous and patently untrue.”
Another insider revealed to The Mirror that the couple were left “open mouthed” upon hearing these allegations.
Earlier, a friend of Nicola’s commented: “We are at this point because Nicola, an outsider coming into the Beckham family, has been able to help Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within his family, that it’s not healthy and it’s not normal and it’s not ok.”
However, a source close to the Beckhams claimed that Nicola’s friends were “pumping out untruths”, expressing their disbelief by saying: “You wouldn’t expect this of your worst enemy, let alone close family members. The whole thing beggars belief.”
