Baroness drummer Allen Blickle has tragically passed away aged 42 as tributes pour in for the star.
His bandmates confirmed the sad news on Monday in a statement on social media, revealing that he had died “a few days ago”, but they did not disclose the cause of death. This news follows another tragic death in the rock music industry.
The band shared a heart-wrenching statement which read: “It breaks my heart to have to share the news that my dear friend, creative partner and former bandmate Allen Blickle passed away a few days ago. I’m still in shock that he’s gone.
“We ask for understanding as his family and this band process his passing and grieve his loss. Allen, I love you and miss you. I treasure every moment we shared.”

Kylesa star Laura Pleasants reacted to the news with a touching message on the band’s profile. She penned: “I was so heartbroken… finding out how the past month was. I am just gutted, dude.
“We all thought you had this thing beat. F***, we were supposed to hang out when i got back from tour… Gone too soon my friend. I’m glad you are at peace and no longer in pain.”
After the news of Allen’s passing, devastated fans flooded the band’s tribute with heartfelt messages.
One wrote: “One of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Rest in Peace. No one will play disco beats over metal like you did. Tragedy.

“His drumming in the first Baroness recordings is one of my favourite elements of the band, he had an energy difficult to explain, was unique, I also loved his Alpaca project, rest in peace.
“Unreal. Rest in peace to another legend gone too soon.”
Baroness is an American heavy metal band formed in 2003 in Savannah, Georgia. Known for their blend of sludge metal, progressive rock, and post-metal, the band has garnered critical acclaim for their evolving sound and artistic integrity.
However, the lineup has gone through a series of several changes, and founding member Allen left the group in 2013. Allen departed the band following a severe bus accident in August 2012 during the group’s European tour.
The crash resulted in Blickle and then-bassist Matt Maggioni suffering fractured vertebrae, while frontman John Baizley sustained multiple broken limbs. The traumatic event led to significant physical and emotional challenges for the band members.
