EastEnders fans were left in disbelief after a recent episode of the BBC soap hinted that Zoe Slater’s daughter could still be alive by dropping a mysterious clue
EastEnders fans have spotted a hidden detail that could imply Zoe Slater’s daughter is still alive.
An explosive episode delivered shock revelations one after the other as a flashback to 2006 dropped the bombshell that Zoe had delivered twins, though it appeared the daughter hadn’t survived, reports the Mirror.
Viewers suspect she might still be alive given the episode never explicitly confirmed her death. During the flashback sequence, Zoe was shown in hospital delivering the twins but discovered only one infant beside her, which was a boy.
When she questioned the nurse about this, she was told the doctor would come to discuss things with her. Zoe then informed the nurse of her intention to place her son for adoption, though she was advised against making hasty choices.
As the nurse departed to consult with the doctor Zoe fled the hospital, abandoning her baby boy. Back in the real world scenes, while losing consciousness from blood loss after being shot, Zoe confessed to Kat that she “couldn’t even be a proper mum,” when Kat asked whether her babies had died and viewers also caught sight of Zoe’s angel tattoo.
Whilst it was presumed the daughter, missing from the flashback, had passed away some fans remain unconvinced. Viewers took to X/Twitter and one person wrote: “I just saw a theory on TikTok and it pointed out something I missed, The nurse never actually said: ‘Your daughter died, I’m so sorry,’ she said the doctor will speak to you shortly.”
Another viewer speculated: “I think there’s a possibility that Zoe’s daughter is alive and she didn’t wait to find out about her daughter’s fate, assumed the worst and got a tattoo of it because she assumed that her daughter was dead.”
A third fan added: “Anyone else think Zoe’s daughter is alive? They never explicitly said she’s dead, just that the doctor would speak to her about her. Perhaps she had a condition but still survived.”
Beyond revealing that Zoe delivered twins, no further details were disclosed, leaving viewers speculating about the identity of the father. Based on the timeline and happenings in Walford, some viewers suspect Den Watts could be the dad.
Zoe conceived after her encounter with Den, though she terminated that pregnancy. One viewer commented: “If anything it’s Den’s baby,” as another chimed in: “Wait, is Dirty Den the dad?”
