The Inbetweeners star Emily Atack has revealed she is engaged after boyfriend Alistair Garner popped the question, just over a year after they welcomed their first child

The Inbetweeners star has revealed that boyfriend Alistair Garner has proposed – just over a year after the arrival of their first child. Emily and Alistair welcomed their baby son Barney into the world in June 2024.
The pair announced their engagement on Friday (July 18) with a sweet photo – and a reference to The Cure’s hit Friday I’m In Love, In the snap, a beaming Emily is seen hugging Alistair’s chest and showing off her stunning diamond ring in the garden.
Referencing the Cure song, she wrote: “It’s Friday, I’m in love.” She added three diamond ring emojis in the caption of the post.
Her famous pals and followers rushed to the comments to congratulate the duo. Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore said: “Yassssss! Delighted for you both you cuties xxx.”
Fleur East gushed: “Woooo! Let’s gooo!!! Congrats,” alongside two love heart emojis. Sophie Ellis Bextor shared heart and clapping hand emoji, and Emily’s Rivals co-star Bella Maclean commened: “AHHHHHHHHHHH” in excitement.
Emily first announced her pregnancy in December 2023. At the time, she said: “I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time.
“Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting – a bit like when you’ve just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.
“I’ve got to know my body on such an insane level. It’s made me appreciate the one I’ve been given so much.” She continued at the time: “I’m doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I’m growing.”
She celebrated Barney’s first birthday last month with a star-studded party. Emily shared photos and video clips of everyone enjoying the party on Instagram.
Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis, 52, was among those at the bash. Her other snaps showed the sweet birthday themed snacks and food products and she revealed the party food went down a storm with some of the younger guests attending the event.
As she continued to celebrate Barney’s big day, Emily shared more photos from her pregnancy. She showed off her baby bump in some snaps – while others were of her son at various stages from the first 12 months of his life.
Proud dad Alistair also featured in some of the photographs, including some that showed him hugging, kissing his son. Another sweet snap showed Emily hugging her son while in bed with the family dog at her side.
