Emily Ratajkowski has channelled Clueless in her latest sultry Instagram post. The 34-year-old model and writer drew inspiration from a memorable 1995 scene where Alicia Silverstone’s Cher character mentions French fashion house Alaïa, captioning her new style shots with the iconic line: “Like a totally important designer.”

Emily struck seductive poses wearing a leather Alaïa criss-cross top worth $3,800, teamed with mesh capri leggings featuring lingerie-inspired straps that hugged her waist and extended into garter details at her ankles.

She finished off the ensemble with strappy pointed-toe heels, voluminous hair waves, and smoky brown eyeshadow complemented by a glossy nude lip. Fans have dubbed Emily’s daring all-black combination of leather and mesh a “bondage meets balletcore” look.

The model, who has a four-year-old son Sylvester with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, recently opened up about balancing fashion choices with motherhood.

Speaking to Elle UK earlier this year, she revealed: “I was definitely dressed up compared to (other mothers.) I think that’s actually one of the ways I really enjoy being subversive with motherhood.”

Emily went on to say she relishes trying styles that others might deem inappropriate for a mum, explaining: “There’s so much around what a mom should look like.”

This summer, her wardrobe has been a parade of daring cut-out frocks, Y2K-inspired mini dresses and risqué thong swimsuits, all showcased on her Instagram feed.

Emily shot to fame in 2013 after featuring in the music video for Blurred Lines, subsequently carving out a successful career as both a catwalk model and film actress.

Her acting credits include roles in Gone Girl (2014), We Are Your Friends (2015) and I Feel Pretty (2018. ).

In 2021, she published her memoir My Body, an anthology of essays delving into themes of sexuality, power and identity.

Parallel to her modelling pursuits, Emily has been the face of campaigns for high-end brands like Versace, Miu Miu and DKNY, and graced the covers of prestigious magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
