Emmerdale’s Mackenzie ‘not dead’ as fans ‘rumble’ what John Sugden buried in woods

Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd was brutally attacked by John Sugden and seemingly met his grisly fate in the woods, but fans have been left wondering if he is really dead

Emmerdale fans believe Mackenzie Boyd may still be alive.

The Dales favourite, played by Lawrence Robb, appeared to meet a horrific fate in the woods this week at the hands of killer John Sugden. During Thursday’s hour-long episode, John hunted Mack with a bow and arrow after Mack found out the former army medic was responsible for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) death.

Mack tried his best to get away, but John fired an arrow through his back, severely wounding him. Mackenzie begged for his life as he laid bleeding out, but John proceeded to bludgeon him with a rock – seemingly ending his life in grisly fashion.

The episode ended with John looking at what appeared to be Mack’s dead and bloodied body in the back of his van. However, some fans believe Mack isn’t actually dead – and that John may be holding him hostage.

Friday’s episode showed John burying something in the woods, near to the house he is staying in with husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). When Aaron noticed blood in John’s van, John appeared to lie and said he’d accidentally hit a deer when it jumped out in the road.

He said he tried to help the bleeding deer before it got up and ran away. The episode got fans wondering if John truly killed Mack, or if something else was in the back of his van.

Some believe John wasn’t burying Mack but was actually disposing of the alleged murder weapon. One wrote “John didn’t have his bow and arrows at the beginning of tonight’s episode. I think he’s buried them. Mac was in the van and he’s got him hostage somewhere.”

Sharing the same theory on Facebook, another asked: “What if Mack’s body is still in the woods in Emmerdale and what we saw today was John burying the bow and arrows instead of Mack.”

A third agreed: “That’s what I think he has buried. What if Mack is behind that hole and John is treating him – back to hero syndrome.” A fourth added: “I think John buried his bow and arrows, then took Mack somewhere to keep him hostage.”

Another wrote: “Is it Mack buried in the woods? We are all hoping he’s not dead and I’m convinced he isn’t, could John have been burying his bow and arrows as I don’t recall seeing them.”

However, others reckoned John was actually telling the truth about hitting a deer, and that was what was bleeding in his van and what he ended up burying. It remains to be seen what he actually buried.

Another twisted move from John came when heused Mack’s phone to text Charity told her that he no longer wanted to be married to her. He needed to do something to stop Charity getting suspicious and wondering why he hadn’t messaged her.
