Former Celebrity Big Brother star Gail Porter admitted that she is giving up on trying to find the love of her life and is instead committing herself to her darling pet cat
TV star Gail Porter has said she’d rather sit at home with her pet cat than go out on a date. The 54-year-old said she ‘preferred’ the company of animals to people, and would rather sit at home in her vest and watch horror movies than go on a romantic date.
Gail, who lost her hair to alopecia when she was 34, said that animals never needed to ‘talk’ and that she could rant and rave and they would still love her.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star said she currently has a cat called Ziggy – after dog Missy and cat Pickles – and that she’s ‘too fat’ to get in her in her cat box.
The TV star – whose 60ft-high naked image was beamed onto the Houses of Parliament in 1999 by lads’ mag FHM – said: “I prefer animals to people.
“If someone said to me ‘Do you want to go on a date?’, I’d say ‘Actually I’d rather stay at home with my cat, who wouldn’t care if I’m wandering around in only a vest watching some shit horror film’.”
Speaking about Ziggy, Gail said she was similar to her – in that she ‘didn’t like people’ either. She said: “She (Ziggy) doesn’t like people much, which suits me.
“She doesn’t leave my side and eats loads. Marmite particularly. She loves it. She’s too fat to get in her box now.”
Asked what she liked most about animals, compared to humans, she said: “Well, mainly they can’t speak.
“I can go in and say ‘My God that was a shit day’, and Ziggy will just give me a cuddle.
“You don’t have to get into a conversation,” she added. “She’s great, though.
“She doesn’t know what the f*** I’m talking about. I can vent and it doesn’t matter. Then we’ll have a cuddle.”
