The countdown is on for the upcoming release of Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl. The record is due out on October 3, and she shared the news on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother’s podcast New Heights last week, which sparked mass hysteria among fans.

The album’s cover art was initially kept a secret but has since been unveiled. She is seen dripping in jewels as she poses in a crystal rhinestone dress in true Las Vegas showgirl style, while semi-submerged in water. The artwork is remarkably similar to John Everett Millais’ famous Ophelia painting – and track one on her new album is titled The Fate of Ophelia.

Many fans have been wondering where she got her rhinestone-encrusted outfit from, which shows off plenty of flesh. According to reports, the dress is by designer Area, from the Spring 2022 collection. While it would be impossible to get the exact same look off the high street, there are plenty of alternative options up for grabs for a more affordable price.

Shein is selling this Sequined Mesh Stretchy Backless Formal Gown for £17.54. It comes in three different sizes – small, medium and large. There are also three colours to choose from, including silver, black and dark green. The silver option is a lookalike version of Swift’s Area dress.

Another eye-catching silver number is this Sparkle Delight Glitter Mesh Dress by DressMeZee. It was originally £84.99, but thanks to a 35 per cent off deal, it is now £54.99.

The product description reads: “This show-stopping dress is made from a glitter encrusted fabric and features a built-in bodysuit for comfort and support. Sparkle Delight’s asymmetric neckline and thigh spilt for an added sense of drama that will ensure all eye are on you.”

A third choice is this Khaki Sequin Scoop Neck Mini Dress by Pretty Little Thing. It costs £22.50 and comes in five different sizes. Describing the outfit, the brand says: “Let the light catch you. The ultimate evening piece, the khaki sequin scoop neck mini dress, is ready for nights out.

“This bodycon mini dress features a classic scoop neckline and is covered in shimmering sequins from neck to hem, designed to contour the silhouette. Pair this showstopper with simple strappy heels and a minimalist clutch bag for an effortlessly cool look. Get ready to own the night.”

A fourth pick is NastyGal’s Sequin Lace Trim Mini Slip Dress for £41.25 – down from £55. The “dazzling” all-over sequin fabric creates an “eye-catching sparkle”, while the “delicate” lace trim along neckline and straps adds a “feminine touch”.

Style it with strappy heels and a clutch bag for a classic evening look, or layer over a sheer long-sleeved top for a more avant-garde ensemble.”

A final option is from Amazon, with its Latin Sequin Backless Ballroom Star Show Bodysuit for £24. Although the bodysuit is orignally designed with dancing in mind, it could easily work for a Taylor Swift Showgirl-themed party.

Amazon says: “Made of 100 per cent high-quality dense and delicate polyester fibre fabric, and decorated with thousands of sparkly and reflective sequins and beads. Adjustable strap back tie design makes it easy to customise this costume set to fit most personal body shape. Light weight with excellent material thickness.”
