Former MasterChef star Gregg Wallace looked totally different when he was younger and an unearthed throwback snap shows the TV host sporting a thick, dark head of hair
Gregg Wallace looks completely different in old pictures from his youth.
A picture of the former MasterChef host in his younger years shows Gregg flashing a smile at the camera, sporting a white t-shirt and a chain necklace.
However, one major factor means the picture requires a double take (as Gregg is known for his bald head and black glasses) – a full head of dark, curly hair.
The unearthed picture comes soon after the BBC recently released a statement regarding the former BBC star.
They addressed the former MasterChef presenter after recent accusations of sexual misconduct, which were made in 2024 and a nine month investigation was launched.
A series of complaints included allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” behind-the-scenes while filming the BBC cooking competition show.
His lawyers strongly deny the claims made against Wallace and said: “It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature.”
On 14 July, the BBC said that they “welcomed the publication of the findings by Lewis Silkin following the investigation into the conduct of Gregg Wallace.”
They stated: “In light of these findings, Banijay UK and the BBC have agreed Mr Wallace’s return to MasterChef is untenable. The BBC has informed Mr Wallace we have no plans to work with him in future.”
“The investigation details a substantial number of allegations of inappropriate conduct spanning 19 years. This behaviour falls below the values of the BBC and the expectations we have for anyone who works with or for us.”
The broadcaster also admitted that action could have been taken at an earlier time: “Although the full extent of these issues were not known at the relevant time, opportunities were missed to address this behaviour – both by the production companies running MasterChef and the BBC. We accept more could and should have been done sooner.”
The BBC then issued a direct message to those involved: “We want to thank all those who took part in the investigation, including those who first raised concerns directly with the BBC in November last year. We apologise to everyone who has been impacted by Mr Wallace’s behaviour.”
“Lewis Silkin’s findings include two further allegations which were upheld, relating to other individuals. The BBC takes these findings very seriously and we have asked Banijay UK to take action to address these issues, which is underway. This will be completed as a priority.”
The broadcaster then said that they “will not be commenting further at this stage” but said: “We are clear we expect the highest standards of respect at work to be upheld on the production.”
