Coronation Street icon Helen Flanagan has hit back at mum-shamers who have told her to “cover up” in front of her own children while wearing a silver ensemble
Helen Flanagan has slammed mum-shamers after wearing a teeny top in front of her kids.
She filmed herself flaunting a glittery outfit for Manchester Pride and beneath the ensemble she wore a chic plunging bralette. Helen told her followers: “I will probably get nasty comments because I am showing off my cleavage.”
The actress then spoke about her choice to undergo breast enhancement surgery, explaining she used to be able to tie her breasts “in a bow” after nursing for three years, which prompted her decision.
She explained: “I actually get comments, all the time, like: ‘Oh you’re a mum, you should cover up, your kids would be ashamed of you’, like this is actually my body. Even though I have had surgery from breastfeeding my children, which caused lots of excess skin to my boobs, and put an implant in to make them up again, these are actually their natural size so should I be ashamed of how I look because I am a mum?”, reports the Mirror.
The mother of three continued: “I don’t think there is anything shameful about being confident and about being sexy, I don’t think that’s a bad thing and I don’t understand how that makes you a bad mum.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I am not perfect, but I try and show my children the importance of being kind. Never ever drag other women down,” she said before explaining that she doesn’t feel 35, doesn’t consider herself a grown-up person and that she enjoys dressing “young”.
Helen then declared that when she reaches 45 she will continue to dress exactly as she pleases.
The star recently posted footage showing herself seated on the floor wearing her nightwear while calling out to her son: “Charlie, can you come to mumma?” as she attempted to negotiate with him before giving him a gentle talk with him to prepare for bedtime.
Supporters showered the Celebs Go Dating personality with compliments and one person quickly headed to the comments to tell her she’s “doing an amazing job”. Another fan commented: “Think this is amazing. You kept calm and in turn that helped him it’s called Co regulation for the uneducated out there who are saying show him who is in charge.”
Someone else typed: “Love this, you’re such a good mom. Boys are wild, so much energy and so loveable”.
