‘I’m going on Love Island – my school teachers predicted I’d end up on steamy ITV show’

EXCLUSIVE: Daily Star sat down with Love Island’s Ben Holbrough where he shared his teachers ‘predicted’ the then-student’s destiny of going on the steamy ITV show

Love Island’s Ben revealed that his teachers ‘predicted’ he’d end up on the steamy ITV show – as school is ‘buzzing’ he’ll be on telly.

Ben Holbrough,23, from Gloucester, is one of the first contestants to be heading into the iconic Majorcan villa, with season 12 airing on Monday night.

The lad balances his career as both a taxi driver and model, but even his school teachers felt that Ben was destined for prime time television.

“They’re all buzzing,” Ben exclusively shared when asked about what those back home think about him landing a place on this years Love Island.

“When I was at school, Love Island was on then, the teachers used to say to me as a joke ‘see you on Love Island in a few years’.

“So it’s been a thing from all the way back then. And now it’s happened, my friends to school to my family – they’re all buzzing and can’t wait to see me go on.

“They just told me to be ‘yourself’ and ‘just be who you are’ because people will love me for that. I’ve just got to be true to myself and do what I think is best.

“And then, hopefully, it all works out as it’s supposed to.”

It was revealed earlier this week by Love Island Executive Producer Mike Spencer that raunchy scenes are making a comeback after the show started to censor intimate clips to ‘protect’ the contestants back in 2021.

However, speaking to the Express, Spencer explained: “If sex happens, we’ll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours.”

And it looks like model and taxi driver Ben isn’t going to hold himself back – even if his old school and family are watching. When asked if he was going to have sex now it will be back on our screens, Ben said: “I can never say never. You’ve got to take every day as it comes.

“If there’s a girl in there that I’m sharing the bed with and she’s sexy and, who knows, if we’re cuddling every night it could get carried away. The Hideaway is there for the taking as well.”

Love Island will be reinstating sex scenes after they were left on the cutting room floor in – much to the fans’ excitement.

After cutting the raunchy bits in 2021, they’ll be back with a bang (quite literally) for 2025 and Ben won’t be wasting any time.

“I’ve already told them I’ll try my best to keep it PG…” he quipped when asked about what his family would think about him ‘doing bits’ in the villa.

Fans of Love Island might have seen charmer Ben before he walks onto our screens on June 9. That’s because the lad is a professional poser away from his driving gig.

Ben often shares snippets of his luxurious life to his 11,000 Instagram followers, where he can be seen posing for House of Cavani and Superdry.

He’s even modelled for fake tan brand St Moriz, which featured on the Boots website.
