‘Infectious’ comedy trilogy leaving Netflix in just days despite sequel rumours

One of the funniest, feel-good film trilogies is only available to stream on Netflix for a few more days despite rumours that a fourth instalment is on the cards

You have just days left to watch one of the most iconic film trilogies of the 21st century on Netflix.

The beloved comedy series starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Skylar Austin, Elizabeth Banks and Hana Mae Lee was a smash hit with audiences when it was released back in 2012. Pitch Perfect will be leaving the streaming platform on 15 September, so get streaming to catch all three before they’re gone for good.

The plot follows an all-girl a cappella group who go head to head against another team from their college in an attempt to bring home the International Collegiate A Cappella Championship.

The Barden Bellas attend Barden University and members Aubrey and Chloe try to recruit new members – however, the group’s reputation has been destroyed after one member vomited on stage during a recent tournament.

The film was released in October 2012 and received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Over on Rotten Tomatoes a number of film critics have shared their thoughts on the Anna Kendrick fronted flick.

One said: “It’s aimed at Glee fans and teenage girls, but the infectious energy will appeal to a wider audience,” while another wrote: “If it looks like the sort of film you’d like, you’ll probably love it. Even if it isn’t the sort of film you would normally watch, it’s good enough that you’ll likely still find much to enjoy.”

Another had high praise, stating: “One of the best comedies ever made.” A second added: “Pitch Perfect combines the tuneful underdog triumphs of Glee with the sassiness of Bridesmaids to produce a sweet-sounding, wickedly funny movie.”

A third wrote: “Silly, predictable but funny as hell with an infectiously catchy soundtrack, Pitch Perfect is a ray of cinematic sunshine.”

The film has two sequels, Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3, and there has been talk of another instalment. Rebel Wilson addressed the claims back in June and spoke to Today about the idea.

She said: “I don’t know, I have a feeling it could shoot next year but we’ll see.”
