Jade Goody’s mum Jackiey Budden has furiously denied being behind grandson Freddy Brazier’s cannabis addiction. This week, Freddy revealed he’d been sectioned after a difficult time in his life. Jackiey, 68, has now lashed out after Freddy claimed his maternal grandmother had got him “hooked” on drugs from the tender age of 12. The young man had revealed on a podcast that he hoped to maintain a positive relationship with Jackiey despite his father Jeff’s legal fight to prevent contact with the pensioner.

However, Jackiey, whose daughter Jade passed away from cancer in 2009, has fiercely rejected the 20-year-old’s allegations. She declared: “I’ve read all these things he’s said about me and I just can’t believe he’d say them. It just isn’t true at all – I can’t believe it.

“Freddy was smoking as a kid with his mates long before he and I ever smoked together back out in Essex near Jeff’s home – he got into some bad crowds but it had nothing to do with me.”

Freddy courageously revealed his struggle with addiction, disclosing he had been sectioned during manic episodes. His television presenter father Jeff, 46, grew worried about Freddy after photographs emerged of him smoking alongside Jackiey, reports the Mirror.

Whilst Jackiey, who hails from Southwark in south London, admits to having smoked with her grandson, she strongly refutes suggestions she introduced him to cannabis, a Class B substance that remains illegal for recreational purposes in the UK.

In response to Freddy’s claims, Jackiey told the Mail Online: “All I’ve ever tried to do is look out for him and give him somewhere safe to be whenever he wants to – and this has really upset me that he would do this.”

Jackiey’s daughter Jade, who died aged just 27, was tormented by worries about how her sons Bobby and Freddy would cope without her guidance, it’s believed.

Both lads are trying to make their mark in the entertainment industry, but whilst Bobby, 22, earned acclaim during his three-year run on EastEnders, there’s mounting concern about Freddy’s wellbeing.

A family insider revealed to Mail Online: “Freddy is all over the place. He says one thing one day and the total opposite the next. One minute he wants to listen to his dad and turn his life around, by going off to rehab. A few hours later he’s changed his mind and says there are no issues and he’s furiously storming off again.”

However, the television star has been applauded for his frank musings on the podcast and heartfelt Instagram updates.

Back in June, he informed his social media followers that he was heading to Spain for treatment after clashing with his father.

Freddy penned: “I’ve found a boxing club and a rehabilitation centre. Ive found someone I want to get to know and I’m happy. I got a good bunch of friends and I [want to] get out and enjoy myself.

“I want to be clean so I can live happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of my family rather then feeling like I’m in the middle and have to choose a side.”
