Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to share his pride over his daughter Mia’s announcement, which left the Liverpool legend’s wife in tears
Jamie Carragher is beaming with pride after his daughter Mia secured a major breakthrough role.
The ex-Liverpool defender and his wife Nicola are parents to two children – Mia and James. James has chosen to pursue his father’s passion, developing a keen interest in football. After joining Liverpool’s academy back in 2011, the now 22-year-old has established himself as a centre-back for League One outfit Wigan Athletic.
Meanwhile, the Reds legend’s daughter Mia has gravitated towards dancing and performing arts. The 20-year-old made her mark last year in Channel 4’s drama The Gathering, shot throughout Merseyside, appearing in two episodes as the character Tash.
She also took on the starring role of Liv in the short film The Watering Hole, which earned selection for the BIFA qualifying North East International Film Festival in November 2024.
Carragher has now turned to social media to announce Mia’s latest exciting venture, reports the Liverpool Echo. He posted: “I’m bursting with pride with you being the first on stage Katniss Everdeen @miacarragher.
“You’ve put so much work in over so many years to land such an amazing role, you deserve this babe. I can’t wait to come and watch @thehungergamesonstage it’s going to be amazing.”
The Anfield icon shared a promotional image featuring his daughter portraying Katniss Everdeen from the blockbuster film franchise. Katniss Everdeen serves as the central character and heroine of The Hunger Games trilogy penned by American writer Suzanne Collins.
The Hunger Games saga follows the story of Katniss, who volunteers to take her sister’s place in a deadly tournament where only one can survive. Competing against others who have trained their entire lives, she must rely on her wits and instincts.
Five science fiction dystopian adventure films were produced based on Suzanne Collins’ novel series, garnering a massive fanbase and following for both the books and movies.

“It’s going to be an amazing experience, amazing sets, such cool costumes. There’s going to be a new theatre built just for this show in Canary Wharf.”
