Jeff Brazier has broken his silence after it was announced that his youngest son Freddy is set to become a dad at the age of 20, making the TV star a grandfather for the first time
Jeff Brazier is set to become a grandfather at just 47-years-old.
His youngest son, 20-year-old Freddy, recently announced that he is expecting his first child with an ex-girlfriend. This marks the first grandchild for the late Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier.
The news was broken to Jeff by dad-to-be Freddy and the TV presenter is reportedly ‘extremely supportive’ of the situation. In light of Freddy’s baby announcement, Jeff shared a cheerful photo of himself alongside a friend on Instagram, reports the Mirror.
The telly star chose Cleo Sol’s uplifting track Life Will Be to accompany the sweet picture, which features positive lyrics like: “Life will be just you believe in you. If you’re alive, there’s no excuse. Get out of your mind, you cannot lose this one time. It could be right.”
Earlier this year it was reported that Freddy had been staying with his maternal grandmother, despite Jeff’s legal attempts to prevent their contact.
Jackiey previously said: “Freddy was smoking as a kid with his mates long before he and I ever smoked together back out in Essex near Jeff’s home. He got into some bad crowds but it had nothing to do with me.”
This week, Freddy courageously disclosed that he has been “sectioned and to rehab” following a series of “manic episodes.” He discussed his challenging journey in a preview for his own Load Of Old Cobblers podcast, and both Jeff and Freddy have been transparent about their shared struggles.
The duo even clashed on camera during their appearance on Race Across The World and were seen arguing over Freddy’s upbringing during the 30-day journey. In one scene, Jeff stormed off after Freddy suggested they were ‘not open as a family’, leading his father to say: “What have I done for the last seven or eight years. You need to take responsibility, that is part of this.”
