Jeremy Clarkson is very passionate about British boozers.

The TV star, known for his larger-than-life personality, wise-cracking quips and dark humour, recently hosted Hawkstone’s VIP Summer Party at his pub The Farmer’s Dog and discussed his brand’s ethos.

Clarkson explained: “That’s really what this place and this beer is all about. As you know, we’re trying to back British farming and we thank you, all of you, who are selling so much Hawkstone because you are backing British farming.”

“If you go in a pub and they’ve got Peroni, great. They’re backing Italian farming.”

The former Top Gear host then joked: “If they’re Italian then that’s fine but if they’re not, well, that’s just not on and we should set fire to the place,” as the crowd laughed at his sarcasm.

Jeremy said his Hawkstone lager is “going from strength to strength at the moment” which spurred him on to create a very explicit advert, that was recently banned from TV broadcast.

The project has proven far too explicit for television and Clarkson informed the crowd: “Sadly, we made it at great expense, great difficulty and it has been banned. Nobody will show it. We’re told by the Advertising Standards Authority that it doesn’t meet their high standards.”

He then premiered the Hawkstone ad for the first time, which stars a choir full of farmers singing: “”F*** me, it’s good” in bright, operatic voices. The crowd were in stitches as Jeremy asked: “Can you see what these people are on about? That’s going to become a social media sensation, I imagine.”

Well, he was right as over on X/Twitter Clarkson fans praised the swear-filled clip, branding it “class” and “genius”. One person wrote: “And this was banned because?” while someone else chimed in: “F*** me, that’s a good ad.”

One fan even gave it the generous title of “advert of the year” as another comment read: “Just for that ad I’m going to get me some of that [Hawkstone lager]. Jeremy Clarkson is f****** awesome.”
