Katie Price has spoken out after her ex-husband Peter Andre issued a statement about her, accusing the former glamour model of making “repeated lies” in the years since they split up
Reality TV star Katie Price has broken her silence following a statement from her ex-husband Peter Andre, in which he lambasted her for allegedly spreading “repeated lies” since their separation.
Katie, 47, and Peter, 52, have been apart since 2009 after sparking a romance on I’m A Celebrity back in 2004. The former lovebirds share two children – Junior Andre, 20, and Princess Andre, 18.
Earlier today, Peter lashed out at Katie in a statement, accusing her of peddling “repeated lies” and expressing his desire to “set the record straight”. In response, Katie’s team has addressed her ex-husband’s remarks.
A representative for Katie spoke to the Mirror, stating: “Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn’t feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she’s dealing with this the right way and it’s now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslight and bullied as she once was..”
Peter made his feelings about Katie known this evening, penning an Instagram post that read: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.”, reports the Mirror.
“The latest comments about my children’s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.”
He went on: “In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today.”
Peter wrapped up by telling his supporters in the statement: “Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”
Earlier this month, Katie lashed out at her former spouse and his management firm the CAN Group, who previously represented her as well, following the launch of their daughter’s new programme the Princess Diaries.
She alleged that she’s been blocked from participating or helping to steer Princess in her career.
She revealed that she’s “upset” that her daughter is being handled by Peter’s management team, who she claimed view Katie as “trash”. The former glamour model has spoken out about the Princess Diaries ahead of its ITV debut.
During her podcast, the Katie Price Show, she revealed to listeners that she’s “very upset” that the CAN Group are handling her daughter Princess’ career.
Katie, who observed that the model is pursuing a comparable career trajectory, explained: “I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I’m not allowed and I’m not welcome.”
She also informed fans that Princess resides with her. While refuting speculation about any rift between them, she stated: “We get on like best friends, mother and daughter. Princess lives with me and she stays at her dad’s. Now, she’s been staying at her dad’s the past two months because she’s been filming her show.”
The CAN Group subsequently released a statement. It declared: “As a company, our duty of care to our clients is paramount. We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.”
More recently, Katie has requested a meeting with Peter and her previous management team, the CAN Group. As earlier reported, she stated on her podcast: “I feel like I’ve missed out on so much and it’s so not fair to bring Princess as piggy in the middle so I think it’s about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. Life would be such more at peace.”
