Katie Price has spoken candidly about her fears as the former glamour model tries for baby number six, despite worries that her health condition could affect a pregnancy
Katie Price has uncovered fresh health concerns.
The glamour model has voiced her concerns about potentially experiencing menopause. The 46 year old star recently detailed her new symptoms, including sleep disturbances and cold sweats.
After a doctor warned that she could start menopause in the next few years, Katie discussed her fears with her sister Sophie on her podcast The Katie Price Show: “I’m not sleeping at night and I’m normally a really good sleeper, so something’s going on.”
“So I’m just going to get my blood test because maybe I’m having an early menopause, I don’t know how it all works but I’m still having my periods.”
She also mentioned that her bed was “wet with cold sweat” before her periods, leading her to wonder if she was “going through the change”. Earlier this year, in her IVF docuseries, Katie Price: Making Babies, filmed in 2023, Katie received some news about her fertility.
The show followed Katie’s visits to the Agora fertility clinic with her then fiancé Carl Woods, as they considered using IVF to have a baby. Gynaecologist and medical director Dr Carole Gilling-Smith informed her that she only had a “couple of awake eggs” and her hormone levels indicated she would likely start menopause within a few years, reports the Mirror.
“For Katie, the first sign of ageing is coming from her ovaries and that is a big blow and something some women find hard to accept,” Dr Gilling-Smith said. “There is a feeling that you’re no longer attractive. That is a sort of unsaid, unspoken feeling that women will have.”
Katie has been candid about her wish to expand her brood – considering options like surrogacy or IVF – and is currently smitten with her MAFS UK beau JJ Slater. She even confessed in a recent chat that despite over 20 cosmetic surgeries, she’s not keen on her reflection, revealing: “I certainly don’t think I’m beautiful,” and shared her dislike for old snaps of herself: “I look at old photos of myself and think, ‘Urrrgh!”
Katie, who has already faced fertility struggles and been told her chances of having a baby using her own eggs are less than 1%, may see menopause as another setback. In her IVF documentary, she shared her fears that Carl would leave her for a younger woman due to her fertility struggles.
“I’m now paranoid that he won’t want to be with me because he’ll want a kid,” she said on the show. “And he’ll think I’m so much grief that he’ll go and get someone younger and set up a family.”
She later told Carl: “I feel you’re going to leave me.”
