Former glamour model Katie Price has revealed she sent her eldest son Harvey back to college a day early after she woke to the sound of him breaking the expensive device
Katie Price sent her son Harvey back to college early after he broke her TV.
The 47-year-old reality star has opened up about the concerns she has for Harvey, who requires round-the-clock care due to his complex health conditions. The 23-year-old lives at a residential college in Cheltenham when he’s not with mum Katie.
Katie’s eldest lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness. He also has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition which can cause a constant feeling of hunger and therefore rapid weight gain.
Katie has revealed that she sent Harvey back to college a day early after he smashed her television, worth around £3,000. She took to Snapchat and shared a video of the incident to let her followers know what had happened.
She asked Harvey in the clip: “What has mummy just heard?”, to which Harvey admitted: “Smashing the TV.”
He told her that he destroyed the television as he’d become annoyed by what was playing on it. However, she wasn’t convinced by his story as she didn’t believe anything had been playing on the screen before the damage took place.
Katie told him that she was going to send him back to college sooner than planned as a consequence of his actions. She said: “You was going to college tomorrow to get some new meds [medication], but now when are you going? You are going now.”
Harvey, who was upset, replied: “Oh god,” as she explained she needed to send him back to college so that he could get some medication and she could buy a new TV for her home. She said the situation was “sad”.
Harvey apologised for the damage and told his mum it wouldn’t happen again. She said to him: “Well you’ve got to go to college now and get some meds.”
Last month, Katie celebrated Harvey’s 23rd birthday. She took to Instagram with a sweet photo of the pair cuddling in bed on Bank Holiday Monday – a day before Harvey’s big day – and wrote: “Bank holiday cuddles before lots of celebrations tomorrow”.
The proud mum has opened up about her concerns about Harvey’s health due to his weight. She discussed the situation with sister Sophie on The Katie Price Show.
“He’s just under 30st and that’s huge,” she explained. “He’s on the verge of a heart attack. He won’t have a long life if he carries on putting more and more weight on.”
She said Harvey’s weight is “so life-threatening now” and that she’s working with doctors to try and improve things for her son. She wants to put him on a weight-loss drug to help him.
She said on Snapchat: “It’s so sad his quality of life at the moment where he’s so big, he just can’t really do much. It’s just another thing I have to deal with because he’s at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I’m going to help him through this.”
