Katie Price has been seen for the first time since undergoing medical tests amid fears her cancer may have returned, with the mum-of-five showing off her slender frame
Katie Price has been displaying an alarmingly thin figure in recent months, and now the mother-of-five has blamed her dramatic weight loss on a health concern amid worries that her cancer might have made a comeback.
Katie, 47, was previously diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer on her finger known as leiomyosarcoma. Following its removal and six years of careful medical supervision, Katie received the all-clear from doctors.
Yet in recent weeks, the television personality has voiced concerns that her cancer could have returned. Her revelation comes shortly before she was spotted in public for the first time since making her troubling confession, reports the Mirror.
Dressed in a form-fitting grey vest top paired with matching grey tracksuit bottoms, the reality star finished her outfit with a black jumper tied around her waist as she set off for the opening night of her tour with Kerry Katona.
The duo performed on stage in Fleetwood, Lancashire, where she discussed the collapse of her marriage to Peter Andre.
With her hair pulled back into a top knot, Katie also displayed bruising around her eye and ear – the aftermath of her latest cosmetic surgery procedure.
During a conversation with her sister Sophie on her podcast The Katie Price Show, the former Page 3 model revealed: “Another thing that’s really weird, you know when I had cancer years ago.”
She continued: ” For some who didn’t know, when I was pregnant with Harvey I got cancer, called leiomyosarcoma.”
Katie went on: “If you look at my finger, there is like a hole there and a scar there, I had it cut out twice. Can you see that dent? It never hurt. But a lump started coming up and I thought I had been riding and done something to my finger.”
The television personality continued: “But anyway cut the long story short it was leiomyosarcoma so I had to have MRI scans and all of that for six years until I was clear.”
Given that the same finger was causing her discomfort once more, this left Katie feeling worried.
She explained: “The same finger here, up here, this is about three weeks ago, I thought, have I knocked it? Because it hurts when I push it but there’s no lump. And it (the pain) still hasn’t gone. So I’m going to get that X-rayed and looked at so I hope it’s not that again.”
With concerns that her test results might reveal something sinister, she continued: “This better not be my bad news, and get bad results, because all this is happening, and then normally in my life something good happens and then something bad happens. Let’s hope it’s nothing bad.”
Medical professionals have also been examining her blood work and following a range of examinations, results have revealed she has low blood platelets, which might account for her recent weight loss.
During a frank conversation with her sister, she revealed: “I’ve had my bloods done, and I’ve got really really low platelets and I thought that was (low) iron, and it’s not. And that could be a reason why maybe I’ve got thinner. I’m tired, no energy.”
Katie, who was also recognised by the public as Jordan throughout her glamour modelling career, continued: “They [the doctors] said it can affect that and I think you might have to have a blood transfusion to get them [the platelets] back up again. So I’ve got to go back and have my bloods done again.”
