Reality TV star Katie Price has admitted that she is concerned a “rare cancer” she was diagnosed with over two decades ago has returned and shared her worrying symptoms with fans
Katie Price is terrified her cancer has returned.
The 47-year-old reality TV star has revealed that she has undergone tests for a pain in her finger, over two decades after she first battled cancer in the same digit.
While on her podcast, Katie and sister Sophie told fans that she has had blood tests and doctors discovered she has a low blood platelet count.
“I’m tired, no energy. [The doctors] said it can affect that and I think you might have to have a blood transfusion to get [the platelets] back up again, so I’ve got to go back and have my bloods done again.”
Katie was first diagnosed with cancer back in 2002 when she was pregnant with her first child Harvey. Medical professionals found a rare form of cancer in the soft tissue on her finger and recently opened up about the ordeal with her podcast listeners.
She explained: “For some who didn’t know, when I was pregnant with Harvey I got a cancer called leiomyosarcoma. If you look at my finger, there is like a hole there and a scar there, I had it cut out twice. Can you see that dent? It never hurt.”
“But a lump started coming up and I thought I had been riding and done something to my finger. Anyway, cut a long story short it was leiomyosarcoma so I had to have MRI scans and all of that for six years until I was clear.”
Pricey is now concerned that the cancer has returned after noticing pain in her finger around three weeks ago. She told Sophie that the pain “still hasn’t gone” so she’s booked in for an X-ray.
Katie said: “I hope it’s not that again. This better not be my bad news and get bad results, because all this is happening and then normally in my life something good happens and then something bad happens. Let’s hope it’s nothing bad.”
