Katie Price has been slammed in a biting statement following her last-minute pull-out from a charity event.

The 47-year-old former glamour model was scheduled to be the star attraction at an afterparty for Milton Keynes Pride Festival.

However, the organisers of MK Pride have expressed their disappointment over their failed attempts to get the celebrity to honour her commitment. They’ve now taken to social media to air their grievances, criticising Katie’s apparent “lack of accountability and professionalism”.

In a Facebook post, they stated: “Milton Keynes Pride Festival is a not-for-profit organisation. The official afterparty was booked and promoted as a fundraising event, with Katie Price contracted as the headline performer.

“Despite repeated attempts of contact to fulfil this agreement, her management has confirmed she will not be honouring her booking. This decision was made at short notice and is entirely outside of our control.”

The decision was made last-minute

The group continued: “As a Pride organisation, we are committed to transparency. For context, much has already been reported in the media about Ms Price’s approach to her professional commitments.”, reports the Mirror.

“While our community has consistently supported her, it is deeply regrettable that this support has not been reciprocated. Choosing not to meet her obligations to a charitable Pride event demonstrates a lack of accountability and professionalism, and we share in the community’s disappointment.”

The organisers went on to request patience from revellers whilst they search for a substitute act. Nevertheless, they assured that Katie’s pullout wouldn’t spell disaster for the afterparty.

“The afterparty will still proceed as planned at Pink Punters and we are currently working on a replacement for Katie Price,” the statement added. “Please allow some time for us to do this, and an announcement will follow shortly.

“All ticket holders are encouraged to retain their tickets in support of the main Milton Keynes Pride Festival remaining free for all to attend. However, if they wish to refund their tickets, we will be in direct contact with all ticket holders to arrange this process. “MK Pride will still operate the dedicated coaches from Campbell Park to Pink Punters, as an additional offering to ensure our community can continue Pride celebrations together.

“Despite this situation being entirely outside of our control, Milton Keynes Pride remains, as always, fully committed to delivering an inclusive, safe, and unforgettable celebration for our community.”

A spokesperson for Katie told the Mirror: “Katie is disappointed not to be appearing at the Milton Keynes Pride afterparty due to unforeseen filming commitments. She has great respect for Pride events and the LGBTQ+ community and wishes Milton Keynes Pride every success with their celebrations.”

The announcement arrives as Katie prepares to drop fresh music.

She disclosed that she had returned to the recording studio to pen new material ahead of her unexpected chart triumph with 2017’s I Got U.

And she has revealed she’s poised to unveil a brand-new single penned by an X Factor star.

Former hopeful Craig Colton is the songwriter behind Katie’s latest track as she pursues her musical ambitions.
