Katie Price’s family ‘concerned’ over riskiest surgery yet as she’s ‘dicing with death’

Reality TV icon Katie Price is set to undergo Brazilian butt lift surgery – a move that her friends and family are said to be “very concerned” about, according to a source

Katie Price’s friends and family are reportedly panicking as she gears up to get a BBL – with worries mounting that the ex-glamour model dives into what’s billed to be her most dangerous op to date.

Just earlier in April, mum-of-five Katie confirmed her plans to nip off for Brazilian butt lift (BBL) surgery, even though she’d binned the same idea before.

Katie, 46, isn’t a stranger to the cosmetic surgeon’s table – she’s clocked up a whopping 16 boob jobs and a long list of other nips and tucks. However, Reflect Clinic UK’s Dr Gerard Lambe reckons this latest stint could spell real trouble for Katie.

He warned: “Katie needs to be aware that she is putting her health and body under extreme pressure with the now countless number of procedures she’s had done in the last year alone.

“BBL is one of the most dangerous surgeries anyone can undergo and it has the highest mortality rate – it’s one of Katie’s riskiest surgeries yet. She is dicing with death,” reports the Mirror.

Katie’s loved ones are getting antsy about the spike in risk, with insiders whispering that they’re scared stiff Katie won’t be able to handle another round of surgery after all the ones she’s already had.

“Katie’s family are all very concerned. They do not want her to have any surgery and are worried about her going through it again. They’re worried this could be her most dangerous one,” they said. “It’s such a touchy subject with Katie though – she’s very defensive and won’t listen. She thinks it’s what she needs.”

Earlier in the year, Katie had planned to undergo a BBL procedure, but by February she’d scrapped the idea, opting instead to hit the gym and build up her glutes naturally. However, just recently, Katie revealed to her fans that she’d decided to go ahead with the surgery after all.

On Instagram, Katie shared: “I’m about to see the surgeon now, he’s just joined the clinic about sorting my butt out. It’s so neat doing it, it’s like a deflatable balloon and I want some volume in it.”

According to insiders, those close to Katie are worried she’s not taking into account the potential risks involved, with one source saying: “Friends and family feel like it’s impossible to get through to her and they’re dancing around the subject, but realistically they don’t know if her body can handle another surgery, so it’s a scary situation.”

Dr Lambe, on the other hand, insists: “The human body needs long rest periods between any essential surgeries, never mind cosmetic ones. She is putting her heart and organs under considerable pressure and not allowing the vital healing period between surgeries.”

The doc’s got a serious warning about Katie’s upcoming surgery, saying it’s dodgy not just ’cause of her history, but because Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) are proper risky for anyone. He reckons: “When injecting deeply, the fat can enter veins that are large and the fat can travel to the heart or lungs, and in severe cases this can be fatal. It is also necessary to follow strict post-op protocols.”

And it ain’t just the medical pros sounding the alarm – the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has been cracking down on ads for BBL surgeries due to the dangers involved.

Just last week, an ASA spokesperson came out with a stark warning, saying: “Choosing to undergo a cosmetic procedure is a serious decision, so ads that trivialise this, exploit insecurities or pressure consumers can cause real harm. We’re particularly concerned about these types of ads for liquid BBLs, given the procedure is currently unregulated and is known to be high risk.”
