Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has died aged 48 after a cancer battle. The singer had told fans that she was having to postpone some gigs as Brandon, the father of her children, was unwell. Tragically, he has since died, with Kelly cancelling some shows in Las Vegas.
A representative for the American Idol legend said in a statement to People: “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years.
“He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.
“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

Kelly had postponed a show in Los Angeles this week to spend time with her children, River, 11, and Remington, nine, whom she shared with Brandon.
She said: “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.
“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
Kelly started dating talent manager Brandon in February 2012. He was the son of her ex-manager Narvel Blackstock.
They tied the knot a year later in October 2013, and Brandon became her manager.
Their daughter River was born in June 2014 and their son Remington was born in April 2016.
Four years later, in June 2020, Kelly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. It was finalised in March 2022.
Following this, in November 2023, she was awarded more than $2.6million from Brandon from business deals he had secured while acting as her manager, which the California Labor Commissioner ruled should have been managed by Kelly’s talent agency Creative Artists Agency.
