Kerry Katona breaks down as she reveals heartbreaking words that caused Ryan Mahoney split

Kerry Katona broke down in tears on E4’s Celebs Go Dating: The Relationship Expert as she recalled the moment her ex-fiancé Ryan Mahoney told her he didn’t think he loved her anymore

Kerry sobbed on C4 Celebs Go Dating as she explained the split

It proved to be another heart-wrenching evening at the Celebs Go Dating agency, with Kerry Katona baring her soul about her painful separation from former fiancé Ryan Mahoney.

The reality star sat down with relationship guru Anna Williamson and intimacy expert Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn to dissect her romantic past. Since Dr Tara wasn’t acquainted with Kerry’s background, the ex-Atomic Kitten member recounted her entire dating timeline – beginning with the collapse of her marriage to Brian McFadden.

Yet it was Kerry’s fresh heartbreak with Ryan that brought her to tears. The couple got engaged in 2020 before parting ways in late 2024, with Kerry citing a “breach of trust”.

This follows Kerry Katona’s revelation about her devastating health condition following her split from her former fiancé.

Detailing the reasons behind their decision to end things, Kerry revealed: “We were arguing quite a lot because he wasn’t there for me emotionally and that used to get to me. It’s the little things, just the little things that I want – I don’t want diamond rings.

“So I kicked off, ‘That’s it, we’re done’, and he said, ‘Look, I just don’t know if I love you anymore.”

Seeking clarification, Anna questioned: “He said doesn’t think he loved you?”

Kerry confirmed: “He said to me he doesn’t think he loves me anymore, he doesn’t know what he wants. I was devastated.”

A stunned Dr Tara then observed that Kerry appeared to have endured “10 lifetimes of trauma”.

Opening up further to the cameras, Kerry declared: “It’s all well and good being resilient, but it makes me quite sad that I’ve had to be so resilient.”

When the cameras returned to Kerry, Anna and Dr Tara in Ibiza, the star became emotional as she confessed: “I’ve never had anyone to look after me. I’ve had to be my own hero which I’m really proud of. But yeah, I struggle with that.”

Nevertheless, it appears Kerry has struck gold on her second attempt with the agency, seemingly discovering romance this time around, reports the Mirror. Kerry developed a bond with Paolo Margaglione during her stint on the popular E4 programme, and it seems the couple have now progressed to the next stage of their romance.

An insider revealed to The Sun: “Paolo is already living in Kerry’s home – they’re together 24/7 so it just made sense for him to move in. Things are going really well between them!”.

During production of the series, Dr Tara revealed to the Mirror that viewers can anticipate Kerry opening up completely about her previous relationship.

“Lovely Kerry has an amazing story. People will really get to hear what has been happening since she last joined the agency. A lot has happened since she last joined,” she explained.

“She really is able to use our agency as a platform to tell us what truly happened and her narrative. She has had a very traumatic life but is in a very good place now to move forward with romance and dating.”
