Controversial actor Laurence Fox has been told he might not face trial until 2027 after he was charged with allegedly sharing an upskirting photo of television star Narinder Kaur. The 46-year-old has been accused of re-posting the image, taken in 2009, on his X account in April last year, and pleaded not guilty at a hearing earlier this year.

The photo showed former Big Brother star Narinder, who has waived her right to anonymity, getting out of a taxi. It was taken without her consent or knowledge.

Laurence, 47, who has a failed politics career behind him, arrived at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday (June 12) for a pre-trial hearing. He arrived at court with his partner Elizabeth Barker.

Laurence was given a provisional four-day trial date starting December 6, 2027, also at Woolwich Crown Court. He was grainted bail to appear at another case management hearing which is set for November.

Sarah Forshaw KC, defending, asked whether it would be possible to have the trial at another court at an earlier date as “December 2027 is a long way ahead”.

He has been charged with two offences under section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

The first is from April 30, 2024, when it is alleged he “intentionally shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, another person, namely Narinder Kaur, in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation”.

The second alleges that the father-of-two “intentionally sent” a photograph of Narinder’s genitals “intending that the person or another person would see…and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation”.

If convicted, it’s believed he could get up to two years in prison and be put on the Sex Offenders Register.

Narinder, who has appeared on shows such as Good Morning Britain since finding fame on Big Brother, reported the photo after it was shared on the internet. The Metropolitan Police then conducted an 11-month investigation.

She said previously that she felt “violated, humiliated and degraded” by the alleged incident.

In March, the Met Police said: “Laurence Fox, 46, of Peldon, Essex, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on April 24 charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

“The charge relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024.”
