Sorry Ed Sheeran, your pal Lewis Capaldi has become the No1 Lego building popstar. The toy-loving Scot takes the bricks on tour and has now overtaken Drake and Pharrell as Lego’s top popstar. He says Lego helps with his mental health too and offers his top Christmas sets. Daily Star looks at all the other singers who champion the enduring toy.
LEWIS Capaldi has overtaken Ed Sheeran as the world’s top Lego building popstar.
The brick-loving warbler pipped Lego House crooner Ed plus the likes of Drake and Pharrell to become the No1 Lego building star and a giant statue was created in his honour.
Lewis also learned to Survive with a little help from Lego. The chart-topping Scot has suffered with mental health issues over the years but building helps to keep his mind calm when touring.
He said: “I’m a big Lego-er. Lego builder. Having Lego around helps take my mind off stuff, I’m so focused on putting it all together that I’m able to put other stuff that’s going on to the back of my mind. There’s also a nice nostalgia tied into it, it’s a lovely feeling.”
Speaking of nostalgia, playing with Lego takes Lewis back to his childhood. He recalled: “My brother, the closest to me in age, we used to share a room. We used to have buckets and buckets of this stuff, so it was a lot of fond memories of bonding, brotherly bonding.”
Lewis enjoyed “flexing my Lego muscle” while visiting a Lego Christmas store London where they showcased a brick-built model of his latest EP artwork, Survive.
Plus a giant model of himself was made crafted from over 41,000 LEGO bricks and taking 207 hours to complete.
He quipped: “I noticed my eyebrows are ginger. My hair looks great, a great head of hair. Obviously my guitars are always the same size as my body.”

6. Drake – the Canadian famously posted a giant mock up of his multimillion dollar mansion on Instagram created entirely from Lego. He says his fave past-times are cooking and Lego.

4. Sophie Ellis Bextor – it’s Murder in Sophie’s house with five sons who have Lego everywhere. Sophie regularly teams with Lego to encourage play and recently showed off her botanical Lego skills.
