Clean Bandit Opens Up About Unsuccessful Attempt in Getting Lewis Capaldi Collaboration

    Instagram

While they were able to work with the likes of Demi Lovato, Anne-Marie, Zara Larsson and Sean Paul, the ‘Symphony’ hitmakers reveal that the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer hasn’t returned their messages.

    Jan 30, 2021
AceShowbiz – Clean Bandit have been trying to get Lewis Capaldi to collaborate with them.
The “Symphony” hitmakers – made up of Grace Chatto and brothers Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson – have collaborated with the likes of Demi Lovato, Anne-Marie, Zara Larsson and Sean Paul, but the “Someone You Loved” singer hasn’t returned their messages.
“We would love to collaborate with him. We have DMed him a few times but no success, as of yet,” Grace told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “But he’s incredible. He’s definitely a nice guy but poor thing, he must get so many DMs.”

The group’s new single “Higher” sees them teaming up with rapper iann dior, who topped the charts last year (20) with his track “Mood”.
The collaboration was released on Friday (January 29), and they were delighted to get to film the video in Jamaica.
“I produced it and Jack and Luke directed it. Jack wanted to film at sunrise and sunset every day so we were getting up at 3am and filming long hours,” Grace added.
“But iann was incredible and was so up for everything. Like, ‘Can you throw yourself off this cliff into the sea?’ He was down for everything. I’m glad he survived. I’m glad we all survived, actually.”
The band previously revealed how the coronavirus pandemic allowed them to complete the 20 songs they had already written before the health crisis. Grace shared, “We wrote 20 songs or so in the month before lockdown started, just the bare bones, so during lockdown we just worked on producing them.”

  • Lewis Capaldi Writes Love Letter to New Girlfriend in Next Album

    Instagram

The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer reportedly addresses his relationship and has one song dedicated to girlfriend Catherine Halliday in his upcoming studio album.
    Jun 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lewis Capaldi’s relationship with student Catherine Halliday is going so well that he’s reportedly penned a song about their romance for his upcoming album.
The Scottish singer was first linked to the redhead back in February 2020 and confirmed the fledgling relationship during a Zoom Q&A with fans last month. And now Lewis is preparing to reveal even more about his personal life after writing a tune about Catherine for his new record. According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the 23-year-old played the song for bosses at his record label last month.
“Lewis’s tracks are mostly about love again but this time finding it, not losing it,” a source told the publication. “He’s smitten with Catherine and although it’s early days, she has a nod on one of the tracks he has written. Lewis mentions her hair and it’s really quite special. She’s made him realise how to be happy again.”
“Lewis jokes a lot but as a songwriter he’s a huge talent. The songs are catchy and upbeat. It’s the same brilliant vocals and emotional lyrics but this time it’s got a lighter feel to it. Catherine was obviously made up there is a nod to her. She has something very special with Lewis.”
Lewis first spoke about his new romance during the Zoom chat when he was asked if he prefers being in a relationship or single.
“I’m in a relationship so if I said the other one, my girlfriend would kill me,” he laughed at the time. “I’ve never told anybody I’m in a relationship, so there you go. She’s got red hair, she’s got quite a posh voice. And that’s that, that’s all you’re getting.”
The “Someone You Loved” star previously dated Paige Turley, who was crowned the winner of the last series of Britain’s “Love Island” alongside boyfriend Finn Tapp.

    May 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lewis Capaldi’s debut album, “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent”, has marked the first anniversary of its release by returning to the top of the U.K. charts.
The record, which dropped on May 17, 2019, tops Friday’s May 22, 2020 Official Charts Company rundown, with Lewis celebrating a year, in which his album became Britain’s biggest seller.
The number one return gives the Scottish singer a 10th non-consecutive week on top, a full year in the top 10.
Last week’s top album, Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia”, slips one place to two while Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” rises to three and Drake’s “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” is at four. Future’s “High Off Life” completes the new top five.
In the singles chart, DaBaby’s “Rockstar”, featuring Roddy Ricch, holds on to the top spot, seeing off competition from Doja Cat’s “Say So”, which rises to two, and Drake’s former number one, “Toosie Slide”, which slips to three.

The Scot shared the news of his plans to release a follow-up to last year’s (19) hit “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” during a question-and answer-session with fans via Instagram, revealing he’s been hard at work on lockdown.

Lewis Capaldi Says Being No. 2 Is Disgusting as He Tops Chart With 'Before you Go'

    Instagram

The ‘Someone You Loved’ crooner dodges early retirement as his latest single from the extended edition of ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ dominates the U.K. singles chart.
    Feb 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lewis Capaldi won’t have to follow through on a pledge to quit music as his track “Before You Go” is at the top of the U.K. singles chart.
The Scottish singer-songwriter released several remixes of the tune, from his album “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent”, in a bid to secure top spot, and jokingly told his Instagram followers he’d give up and get a new job if he failed.
However, he won’t have to make good on the promise, as the song tops Friday’s January 31, 2020 Official Charts Company rundown ahead of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”.
A delighted Lewis tells OfficialCharts.com, “It’s so nice to get another one in the bag, second number one for my song Before You Go and it means the world so thank you so much if you went and bought it.”
“Obviously becoming number one is absolutely everything to me and I would be disgusted if I had the number two spot, it would be gross, so yeah I’m so glad I’m not that guy, and if I did I don’t know what I would do, I would probably go home, cry into my hands and just have an awful, awful time, so thank you so much.”
Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” is at three, with last week’s number one, Eminem’s track featuring late rapper Juice WRLD, Godzilla at four. Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, and Burna Boy’s “Own It” complete the top five.
U.K. grime star J Hus tops the albums chart with “Big Conspiracy”, pushing Eminem’s “Music to Be Murdered by” down to two. Pet Shop Boys’ “Hotspot” enters at three, with “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” at four, and masked rapper M Huncho’s “Huncholini the 1st” completing the top five.
