Oasis frontman says Glastonbury Festival is not for him as its revellers were ‘like a jamboree class on bad acid’. The legendary singer also ruled out his reformed band headlining Glasto any time soon
Liam Gallagher slammed ‘horrendous’ Glastonbury as a ‘load of divs in Ty die clothes banging clogs and blowing up balloons’.
The Oasis frontman said the festival was not for him as its revellers were ‘like a jamboree class on bad acid’.
He ruled out his band headlining the music festival which last week attracted 200,000 fans to Worthy Farm in Somerset to see a host of acts including The 1975, Rod Stewart, Charlie XCX and Neil Young.
An Oasis fan – clearly unimpressed by this year’s line-up – told Liam on X: “You should’ve headlined Glasto.”
Gallagher, who will this week embark on the band’s first tour in 16 years, launched into an anti-festival rant.
He replied: “It’s not for me it’s like jamboree class on bad acid.
“It’s a load of divs dressed in Ty die clothes banging clogs and blowing up balloons all with psycho smiles and crusty eyes and red wine mouths
“I like the other stages and the tents but the main stage is like playing to a load of jamboree teachers.
“It’s horrendous.”
Gallagher, 52, is so focussed on Oasis’s forthcoming 41-show Live ‘25 tour he has quit booze in a bid to help the band deliver their best performances ever.
It will be the first time he and brother Noel, 57, have performed together since 2009.
Asked why he had gone on the wagon Liam told fans: “These gigs are too important for me.”
He added he needed to leave Oasis ‘in a good place’.
A source said: “He is focussed on one thing right now.
“He wants to give legacy performances on this tour and is determined to be in the best possible shape.”
The tour starts on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before moving across the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada and Mexico.
