Liam Gallagher did his best to keep a low profile while out on a stroll in London with fiancé Debbie Gwyther, sporting a large winter coat with the hood up over a baseball cap
Liam Gallagher didn’t want to be spotted on his stroll through London.
The Oasis frontman kicked off the band’s highly-anticipated comeback tour over the weekend, with two epic gigs at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The emotional shows saw brothers Liam and Noel grace the stage together for the first time in over 15 years.
Liam decided to enjoy some well deserved downtime after smashing the first leg of the band’s Live ’25 Tour. He tried his best to keep a low profile as he went for a stroll with fiance Debbie Gwyther in north west London.
The Supersonic singer was dressed for disguise as he wore a large black winter coat, despite the 22-degree heat in the capital. Liam had the hood up over a baseball cap to conceal his face, but allowed himself the luxury of a pair of shorts to help him stay cool.
Liam’s longtime partner and manager Debbie got the memo too. She was seen wearing a similar winter coat with the hood pulled up. The pair were walking their adorable rescue dog Buttons, a homeless Thai ridgeback puppy.
Liam loves dogs and adopted Buttons from a dog rescue sanctuary in Thailand. Irishman Niall Harbison runs the shelter – called Happy Doggo – and says the Oasis legend has been a “big supporter” of his dog charity.
And Oasis fans who attended the Oasis Cardiff gigs may have noticed a cute dog flash up on the screen while the band played Roll With It. It turns out it was Liam’s beloved Buttons who was featured as part of the kaleidoscopic visuals that were shown during the performance.
Niall took to X to tell Button’s story, writing: “Most people were probably looking at @liamgallagher and @oasis last night on stage. Look a little closer and you’ll spot a dog called Buttons. Her’s is a remarkable story.
“Buttons was a little puppy who walked into our sanctuary in Thailand in the middle of the jungle just as it was getting built. She had been abandoned. She kept coming back daily for food and hoping for company. Day after day Buttons came back. I eventually took her in and put her up for adoption.”
“Buttons has grown into a beloved member of the family and landed on her paws,” Niall added. “Liam has been a big supporter of @wearehappydoggo and donated his globe from the last tour to raise funds. I don’t think Buttons realises her dad is a rock star. She just loves her humans.
“So if you are wondering why there is a dog on the @oasis screens now you know. Well done Buttons. I think you can say you’ve made it when your dad has you on the big screen.”
Liam himself talked about how he came to adopt Buttons during an appearance on ITV’s Jonathan Ross. He told the host: “We follow this geezer.
“This Irish lad who rescues them when they’ve been all battered and stuff, and beat up and that, so we fell in love with Buttons and then he flew her over from Thailand and then got her on the ferry from Amsterdam.”
Jonathan replied: “That is a well travelled dog! It’s weird, until you get a dog I don’t think you realise how much you’re gonna love that animal…”
Liam agreed: “Yeah it’s terrible man. I don’t wanna go on tour no more. I want to stay at home with her. She’s perfect man.”
The Oasis singer was honoured with a PETA award for rescuing Buttons and raising thousands for the Happy Doggo charity.
Upon accepting the award, Liam said: “Thanks for the award. Rescuing Buttons has been the best decision we’ve ever made. She brings so much happiness to our lives and everyone she meets. We’re so lucky to have her. We’re obsessed. I thoroughly recommend adopting a homeless dog.”
