Love Island legend eyes up scrap with Tommy Fury as he talks former friendship

EXCLUSIVE: Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard struck up a close bond with pal Tommy Fury the show back in 2019 – but since then the pair have gone their separate ways

Love Island star Curtis Pritchard is up for battling it out against his former pal Tommy Fury.

The TV star, 29, spoke exclusively to Daily Star as he gears up for his upcoming boxing match. We asked if he had gotten any advice from his old pal Tommy, who has carved out an impressive career in the sport whilst aiming to follow in his older brother Tyson’s footsteps.

Curtis answered: “I love Tommy. I’ve always had a very high opinion of him. I’ve got a lot of respect for him and stuff. I wish him all the best there, but I haven’t had any any advice from him I’m afraid no.”

Before adding: “Tommy is involved in a lot of the Misfit stuff, so who knows, in the future, Tommy and I can end up having a friendly rivalry and end up having a little fight at some point.

“Let’s just say I go out there and I all of a sudden win this fight next Friday, off eight weeks notice, and then I’m going for the heavyweight champion of misfits. And then, let’s just say I win that as well. Then where do I go from there? Then Tommy would be the natural opponent.”

But would he not feel strange getting in the ring and going at it with one of his former co-stars?

Curtis explained: “A fight is a fight, whether you’re friends or whether you’re not friends, you’ve both got that same mindset. Once you get into the ring, you can be best friends still, but there’s a war that’s going on in there, and then once that war is finished, you can be back best friends and stuff.

“That’s how I look at that kind of situation. It’s a standard contract, we’re both ready to enter a ring, what we’re wanting to actually do and both ready to do. And it’s equal on both sides.”
